After 3 days in Slovakia, I decided to spent another couple of days in the gold city before to back home.

To make long short...

FIRST DAY:

I arrived in the afternoon, I got a dinner as usual at pizzeria grosseto and then I met with MarkAbc to have some beers together, nothing better than a nice conversation with a good friend to start my holiday in Prague. I was enough disappointed for this time in Prague, quality in night clubs went down, the price for extra went higher and to get to private is getting harder, not for problem of language but cause it seems to me, the girls in privates want to work with czech men....yes I maybe could find taxi driver call for me....but to tell honestly the truth.... I am planning to go really back to heaven, read Russia, in september and in about a week to Kiev, cause... I CANNOT accept after a 3 days in Prague I am more horny now than when I left....

I stayed in this hotel many times in the years 2002-2004, And the hotel it self is quite nice but the rooms itself some are good and some are just single rooms with single bed, it has a nice restaurant and a nice reception, I now stay in apartments but often drop by there for a early breakfast for 120 Kc.

In my days it was not a problem but they require you will have to pay for two persons bringing a extra guest.

This Area is quite good for privates and has also a night club nearby, Night club Karla.

The Quality hotel is offering standard services, the rooms are clean but definitely not luxury. There is a bar and a restaurant righ in the hotel.

I personnally had a bad experience in the Quality hotel but it was more than ten years ago. It was my first and last stay in this hotel. I booked, as usual, a double room single use in order to avoid a real single room (with single bed). I met a student girl in a Prague disco and after a few drinks brought her back to the hotel. It was between 3 and 4 am, the night receptionist didn´t want to let her in and treat her like a prostitute. The girl was really offended as she wasn´t, a very unpleasant situation. After beeing a little bit rude and menacing her, the receptionist finally accepted to check my reservation (a double room) and let the girl in after harrassing her a little bit more with some mendatory registration...

Regardings night clubs and privates, yes there are a few of them in Prague 10, the closest one beeing probably night club Karla at Strasnicka but you should also consider privates/clubs located in Vinohrady and maybe Zizkov as the Quality hotel is located in Strasnice (Prague 10) at the border with Prague 2 (Vinohrady) and Prague 3 (Zizkov).

There is a tram stop (Solidarita) just in front of the hotel. The tram 11 is running on Vinohradska street to the center (Muzeum) trough Zelivskeho, Flora, Jiriho z Podebrad... Both North and South of Vinohradska you can find dozens of privates and several clubs (Hanka Servis, Exclusive club, Sweet Paradise, Neon, K5 relax club...)!

From Strasnicka station, the metro is also running to the center trough Vinohrady: Zelivskeho, Flora, Jiriho z Podebrad and Namesti Miru!

By taxi it should cost between 70 and 150 kc from the Quality hotel dependings on the private/club you choose to visit.

This is what I mean about Taxis in Prauge, the funny thing is that you pay 200-300 CZK entry if you arrive in a tram, and if I remember correctly tram nr 3 goes from Wenceslav's square to Dvorce but the night routine is more complicated on this paticilar night club.But how you get back does not have anything to do with the entrance fee anyway.

A simple solution to avoid 'taxi surcharge' (see my FAQ) is to go close to the club but not exactly in front of it. In this case, looking at the map, you can go to Sinkulova 15 and then take stairs, turn left and you'll see the club.

Just arrived in Prague afternoon yesterday.

Here are a few prices beer in a local pub 29 Czk or 1,26 Eur for both Staropramen and Pilsner Urquell from two pubs in both Vinohrady and Liben, still fearly cheap compared to the rest of Europe.

The exchange rates are now 23 kc for 1 Eur, 28,80 for GBP and 14,50 for USD.

I would recommend also for guys coming for Prague for two or more like myslef to get a monthly Public Transport card for 580 Czk or 25 Eur it is more convenent if you use the metro and trams for at least two times every day, it requires a photo and passport and you need to fill a form out no big deal.

apart from that I am missing my July weather in Prague it is pretty overcast in the Golden City right now.

Decided to go to the club was OK but not what I expected. Called club and they sent me a car to the hotel to collect me for free. See the website they offer free collection and entry 200 CZK including one drink.

The lady on the phone spoke good English, the car was very good top of the range VW Passat with blacked out windows. Driver was very OK and spoke good English also.
