During the summer the weather in Prague is sunny & warm (over 30 C) and a few guys (a couple of expats and some tourists planning a trip to Prague) asked me where to enjoy the sun and possibly swim during day time. And maybe meet girls (freebies)... I post my answer here for who may be interested as well.


There are two main parks where young czechs & students hang out during day time and evening in summer: Riegrovy Sady in Vinohrady (Prague 2) and Letna (Prague 7).

Both parks have beer gardens open late evening, girls are walking dogs, roller-skating, relaxing on the grass or meet friends to chat while drinking a few beers.

Don´t expect to find girls-waiting-for-foreigners but in the beer garden you will find large wooden tables where people share seats so it´s not unusual to start a conversation with the girl next to you at the table.

Letna Park, access trough Milady Horakovy street. Tram stop "Sparta" (tram 1, 8, 15, 25 and 26). There also an access trough the stairs on nabrezi Kapitana Jarose just in front of Cechuv Most. tram stop "Cechuv Most" (tram 12 and 17).


The other option where to enjoy the sun and swim surrounded by girls in swim wear (or even top less) is to go to a "koupaliste" (open air pool).

Oaza Hostivar, K Jezeru, Prague 10 (Hostivar). A lake with beaches including a nudist beach. Drinks and food available. From 9 am to 8 pm. Entrance fee 50 kc. Bus stop "K Jezeru" (bus 232).

Plavecky stadion Podoli, Podolska 74, Prague 4 (Podoli). Open air swimming pool and large grass area. Drinks and food available. From 6 am to 9:45 pm. Entrance fee 140 kc (all day) or 100 kc (from 3 pm). Tram stop "Kublov" or "Dvorce" (tram 3, 16, 17 and 21).

Plavecky stadion Slavia Praha, Vladivostocka 1460/2, Praha 10 (Vrsovice). Open air swimming pool and large grass area. Drinks and food available. Mon-Fri from 6 am to 7 pm, Sat & Sun from 9 am to 7 pm. Entrance fee 120 kc (all day) or 100 kc (from 3 pm). Tram stop "Kubanske namesti" (tram 6, 7, 19, 22, 23 and 24).


Two more locations where czechs girls hang around in summer are "Zlute Lazne" (Yellow spa) and "Prazska Plaz" (Prague beach). Especially Zlute Lazne!

Zlute Lazne, Podolske Nabrezi, Prague 4 (Podoli). Very large grass area for more than two thousand people where you can play beach volley ball, football, Chess, rent a boat... Sponsors organise parties, concerts and other activities during the summer. Drinks and food available. From 8 am to 2 am. Free entrance. Tram stop "Dvorce" (tram 3, 16, 17 and 21).

Prazska Plaz, Horejsi nabrezi, Prague 5 (Smichov). Badminton, beach volleyball, football, rent a boat... Drinks and food available. From 10 am to 8 pm. After 8 pm concerts, movies and parties are organised on certain evenings. Entrance fee 80 kc. Tram stop "Na Knizeci" (tram 12, 14 and 20).

Last time to my Knowladge BBBJ was on offer at Mazlivé Studenky in the standard price, I wonder if that has changed Recently to CBJ.

I found myself out of area in Prague so went to ISG for advice, so here's the report back.

You can buy SIM cards in any operator´s shop. Look at the list below to find the nearest one. Vodafone has a shop at the Prague Ruzyne Airport (arrival hall - Terminal 2).

Vodafone currently sells a Vodafone card at 200 kc (with 200 kc credit included).

T-Mobile currently sells a Twist card at 299 kc (with 250 kc credit included) and a Twist card at 99 kc (with only 10 kc credit included but a 100 kc bonus with the first credit purchase).

O2 currently sells O2 card at 300 kc (with 300 kc credit included).
