Since this board is labeled "General Info" I thought I'd contribute a little here, as this is my home turf. Prostitution in Denmark is legal, although pimping is not. In other words, you are not committing a crime unless the girl is too young. Most places will have an age limit of 21 on their employees. You very rarely see anyone younger.

Your primary sources of information are:

Ekstrabladet: A newspaper with hundreds of ads each day from all over the country. You can also read the ads on the web to on www.ekstrabladet.dk. Click on "Massage & escort" to the left. Don't be afraid to call. All Danes speak English and the foreign girls also have to in order to speak to us.

www.real6.dk: An on-line selection of ads. Most pictures are truthful if not recent. They don't have an English version, so look to the left on the screen for "Piger på vagt i dag" (girls at work today). There are four categories: Copenhagen / Zealand / Jutland / Funen. Click on your favorite spot and enjoy. Don't expect replies to emails, though. You may get lucky, but a quick phone call is always the best. They also have an escort section that should be easy to find.

If you have questions and if you ask politely you will also get an answer by posting in English on www.venuslogen.dk, which is the local mongers' forum.

In general the Danish prostitution scene is divided into SWs, escorts and parlors with a small fraction of actually private apartments that can be difficult to find. In all categories you run into foreign as well as Danish ladies. The price level is high by most standards. Half an hour in a parlor will cost you 1000 kr ~ 170$/130E. Extras will cost you just that: Extra.

Parlors:

As in every other major city you will find a lot of AMPs. Some of them offer just that: Massages. Some of them offer more. I do, however, consider the AMPs a niche in the Danish market. The bulk of the parlors are good honest brothels. They have a written menu the contents of which can be adequately translated using the translation table from an earlier post. Expect 5-600 kr for a CBJ. 1000 kr for half an hour of "everything soft". This means everything covered but no other restrictions. As for the price of extras, expect a BBBJ with CIM to cost 1000 kr, but don't expect to be able to persuade her.

The parlors are generally your best options, unless you reeeally like escorts. You know what you order, and you generally get it. Some of the girls are a little too pro, but hey, they can't all be unspoiled innocents.

A little note on nationalities, though. A lot of girls are of course Danish, but anyone advertised as even remotely chokolateish in color will generally be African with a few Brazilians among them. “Italians” and other South European nationalities are always Eastern Europeans, and if Thai girls are usually advertised as such or just “Asian”.

Escorts:

Here it is a little harder to know what you are ordering, so you can't expect the pictures to match the person you meet with the same fidelity as for the parlors. First hour goes for 1500 kr. Following hours are 1000-1400 kr.

Street walkers:

The short way of treating this subject is: Don't! The SWs are either Danish junkies or trafficking victims from Africa and Eastern Europe. If that is your thing, enjoy. In Copenhagen you would want to head towards Skelbækgade. It is just off the main "porn street" called Istedgade close to the central station. I have never wanted any part of my body to touch those sorry souls, so I cannot tell you the price level.

So, there it is. I am sure there are more knowledgeable Danes than me, but I always miss this primer, when I go to a new country so I just hope this helps someone.

Briefly:

- Nearly ½ million Danes have personal ads on the internet for love and/or sex. That’s 10% of the population.
- 40% of marriages end in divorce.
- Danes buy sexual accessories for ½-1 billion crowns yearly.
- 70% of Danes find prostitution acceptable.

Back in Denmark this week, I tried to find some action. As always the big thing is to check out the Ekstra Bladet newspaper. Every day you can find at least four pages devoted to advertisments for massage parlours. The newspaper can be found at every newsagent's and supermarket in Denmark, but it is in the Danish language. Still, the Danes are very fluent in English, so my recommandation is to call the telephone numbers and make an arrangement that way. You will not be disappointed, as Denmark has everything!
