Cannes and Nice

I'm living near Nice and must say that the street scene has decreased significantly in the last 2-3 years, both in quantity and in quality. This has partly to do with the new government fighting more actively sex slavery and trade. Girls get harrassed by police checks, and you will now need a car to find a SW. There is no longer a girl under each street light on the Promenade des Anglais like before. They are gone or have moved further out, to the Airport and Arena area.

In fact, I no longer attend the local sex scene for some times now. Better go to Frankfurt, Prague or Madrid. Amsterdam is also very over-rated and is more for tourists.

I'll be in Nice and the South of France next week. I'm not sure if I'll be hobbying but I wouldn't bet against it. I'll try to post an update while I'm there. I'm not sure when you're going but hopefully there are some good girls there.

I have a 3 night break in Nice coming up and would like to sample the local hospitality. Having done my research, this looks to be a case of inviting a SW from the Promenade Anglais back to my hotel. It will be my first time with a SW, so I need advice. My previous experiences have been through using the RLD windows in Amsterdam and den Haag.

Some questions:

1) I'll be staying in a 2 star budget hotel on the Rue de France, one block back from the Negresco hotel. This location is close to the action. But will the hotel owners mind if I bring a SW back? And will the SW go with me to a budget hotel? Will I be stung by a scam or ripped off somewhere along the way? The whole process seems risky compared to the Amsterdam RLD window scene. Maybe a better option would be to locate a SW that knows & uses a local hotel.

2) I prefer to visit ladies in the afternoon. I can then relax and have a few beers without worrying about "brewers droop". What is hte action like 2PM to 8PM, say?

3) I speak very basic French. What phrases do I need when negotiating things such as BBBJ, S*ck & F*ck? I have seen mentioned "L'amour" and "La pipe".

Advice is welcomed from experienced travellers in the South of France.

I recommend you go to visit St paul de Vence , it is really a nice town with a lot of artist live there. it is around 20minutes drive from Nice direction Vence.,

There is a very very sea food and fish good restaurant in St Laurent du pont (on the road along the see) called Loulou,

Another nice small town to visit is Tourrettes sur Loup after St paul de vence , the old medieval town (no cars) is also pretty nice.

You can find some nice SW close the Arena , next to Nice Airport , inormally there are east european girl but this will do everything for you for 100€ and you can take them to your hotel , it will be 30 in the car

I travel quite extensively, spent about three weeks hanging out in Villefrance, between Nice and Monaco.. A very nice small boutique hotel Called Hotel La Flore,, on the main highway as you enter Nice.

I rented a car at a place just across the street from the Main train station in Nice,, they advertise daily rentals at around 29E per day for a mini compact,, I opted for a mid-size Renault for around 300E for the week, this was off season, in Mid March last spring.

As for the club scene, very limited. I recall two clubs near the Prommenade, maybe a few blocks in from the Coast (Using the Negresco(sp?) as a land mark. You can get the little directional cards to these clubs at most Restaurants in the Center/tourist areas.

I monger quite a bit in Europe, mainly in the Netherelands, Prague, and FKK areas (Frankurt) ie. Atlantis, and Planet Happy Garden.

I drove the various routes back and forth from San Topez to Menton, stopping in all the spots (Cannes, Monte Carlo, Monaco, and a few other spots) I really never noticed much of a Club scene in any of the places. With the ridiculous prices both for entry, the drink scams, and the unattractive (in general) French young women, I passed on the mongering scene.

Take the short 60E Easyjet flight to Amsteredam or Barcelona if you want better action. Barcelona is a great choice in the spring since the weather is quite temperate vs. the shitty weather in Holland. The reason I went to Nice in the first place to was to escape the rain and cold in Amsterdam, what the hell, 60E to fly over the French Alps and land in Nice, a wonderful side trip to my 40th Birthday present to myself. (4 months of wandering thru Europe with no financial restrictions)

If you have time after Menton crossover into Italy and get to San Remo, a very special place. Also take the road that goes into the Alpes-Maritimes overlooking the Riviera and catch some of the small towns up there including Gras the capital of the perfume industry. Some great places with quaint inns and amazing restaurants. A great place to romance a chick - you're sure to score!

Everything is set for my March trip. I'll be there for 5 nights or so. I already rented a car. Car rentals aren't too expensive but the parking I'm finding is very expensive at most hotels. (Up to $25-$30 euros per night). I plan on driving quite a bit and hitting Nice, Cannes, St. Tropez, Monte Carlo, Menton and maybe a few other spots.

I know it will probably still be a bit chilly but I'm not going for the beaches that time of year. I might meet up with a girl I met in Paris if she can get away from school work. I'll report when I finish my trip.

I've seen your posts under another name on another board and answered you there regarding the hobby scene. I don't know of any clubs in MC and with the high rollers that go through there, most the working girls have to be through an escort agency, which is basically the only way to go in the whole area...other than the swingerclubs.
Specifically for sightseeing in the area you definitely need a car. there's train service that runs all along the coast but that will really limit your options. It's a beautiful scenic area both along the coast and inland into the mountains with many picturesque coves and villages that you'll just want to walk around in. It may be still alittle cold in March in which case you'll miss the other scenery on the beaches - masses of beautiful topless women as far as the eye can see. it's also an are of nudist beaches which are a little more off the beaten track, although there's one right putside of Nice. But you may be lucky and catch some warm sunny days...
i'll be in the area twice in the next couple of months but not in March...

Are there any clubs in Nice, Monte Carlo, St. Tropez, Cannes? I imagine action is very expensive but still curious. I see tons of websites for high class escorts. More interested in the club scene. I talked to several girls in Brazil and some in Buenos Aires that have been to Monte Carlo. Where do they work? Agencies? Any advice is appreciated.

I read the old reports from 2002 and early 2003. Has anyone been there since then? I'm not into SW's. There must be somewhere else the Eastern Europeans hang out. Also, has anyone rented a car there. The cars aren't too expensive at around $60 a day but the hotels charge $30 a day to park but a rental car seems essential if you want to travel around in the French Riviera. I don't want to take taxi's and a bus probably isn't practical. Has anyone rented a car recently? How was it?

you were lucky but check about local Nice Matin archive... you will see about 13yr kid killed for a discman at 8 pm on Promenade des Anglais, you will read about advices from PD telling to close door and windows at traffic lights because two guys on a bike will just get whatever you have on back seats.
Lady got her finger close to by cut away, ... to take her ring that she was trying to defend.

Don't make any mistake... I love the French Riviera, that's where my family was from... But this doesn't mean blind trust and I think that here is the place to warn all our world friends... like they do for area they know.
Nice and Cannes can be lot of fun, be careful acting... never killed anybody :-)))
