I didn't have much else to do at nights and considering the prize i ended up with, I most certainly thought it was worth the effort. Also, if you add at least 5kms/day for sightseeing, it was alot of exercise.

In terms of safety at night, I didn't notice any problems or feel threatened or fearful at any time.

I spent quite alot of time on the promenade at night. Yes, there were a few kids, mostly blacks and Africian, but they were harmless and stuck to themselves. In fact it was fairly quiet & safe at night, at least safe enough for the hookers to roam the streets.

But the real question is was it worth the time and walking spent... :-)))
4 days for one time action... well I think it is a large waste of time.
In addition, without walking so far, you may have got fun walking down from where you stood to the "old Nice" part.

Global warning : walking down all the way you said is not the safest to do at night. Nice is not safe and there are frequent stabbing at least through gang members in late night hours.
A kid got killed just because he tried to defend his mp3 player...
So keep cautious walking these areas. Car is safer.

The Latest on the Service Providing Scene in Nice

Here's an account of my experience in Nice.

Prior to going there I gleaning as much info as i could regarding the location and the paid service scene from other posters of this forum. Incidentally the intel was invaluable.

I had 4 nights in nice and reduced costs by not hiring a car.

My strategy:
Each night around 9:30pm

- Walk from my hotel near Place Massena to the train station Gare Nice Ville via Ave Jean Medecin for dinner. 10mins.

- After dinner walk down Ave Thiers and turn left on Bld Gambetta until Rue de France. 15mins.

- Turn right at Rue de France and walk until Rue Isodora Duncan. 10mins.

- Turn left and left again to get onto Promenade des Angelais and walk down the promenade back to the hotel. 25mins.

Alot of exercise, but I figured no pain no gain.

Night 1 Friday - pouring rain
a wash out, not the best environment for picking up SWs but I took the tour to scope the quantity, quality of the field and their relative desperation given the conditions. I was suprised to see a few hardcore (around 5) SWs. I spoke to one and found out it was going to cost around EUR50-80 but didn't engage as she wasn't as good close up plus I didn't have enough credits.

Night 2 Sat - clear night, little wind, around 13C. I could not find many SWs. It must have been a busy night but I noticed the hot strip in terms of quality and discretion is Rue de France from Rue Andrioli to Rue Isadora Duncan. I did attempt to chat to a pretty what looked to be an Eastern European SW but didn't get far as I asked in English if she spoke English. Perhaps she couldn't but if she did she probably thought I was a dumb tourist looking for street directions so couldn't be bothered. I learned from this experience to my modify my introductory lines to 'lamour' or 'lapipe' and if they spoke limited English then to let the $ talk take over.

Night 3 Sun - Good, clear conditions
a few SWs but of questionable quality, more BSWs than whites. I spoke to a BSW who told me a CBJ & FS would cost EUR50. The session finishes after the shot or after 15 mins which ever comes 1st plus it only comes with 1 posn. Apparently she time shares a nearby apartment with a colleague. The impression I had talking to the BSW were most workers don't show up for work on Sun as business is poor plus they make all their $ on Sat and rest up.

Night 4 Mon - Good, clear conditions. The jackpot. It seems the whole SW fraternity had come to work, the circuit was crawling with SWs. A quality SW caught my eye along the hot strip. She wanted E150 for a 1hr session in my hotel but I managed to bring her down to E130 due to the competitive market conditions. She was a 24yr old, approx 5'7, slim build, brown haired, Russian who spoke little English but still had an Economics degree. Everything was fine as she called a cab until I gave her my hotel details which was approx 2kms away at which point she started mumbling presumably about the distance and potential loss of time and income. but she was professional and stuck to the agreed price. We jumped in the cab and were at the hotel in 3-4mins. It cost E22. Was i ripped off? Perhaps as I later discovered he was in on the act and also backed up as her time keeper but conversely the fare costs may have to cover her ferrying costs to & from the hotel and time & resources for the driver sidekick. One of my objectives was to take pics of her. this is where she got me as she said I could do it for an extra E20. I figured it was worth paying the 'happy' $ although my impression as things evolved was she was happy to be photographed as she was an exhibitionist. During the session she gave CBJ, FS, many posns & shots and massage between shots. She was good, almost as good as Thai workers in terms of service and skill but she refused to do BBBJ. She may have been cautious due to SARS and or maybe it's something you develop with a frequent flyer relationship.

Conclusion
Was it worth the $? I reckon it was, ok definitely no GFE but full on action from a well-trained SW for the full session and at the end complete satisfaction.

Last day - 16:00, summer spring day. I noticed SWs of reasonable quality working the scene around Arenas near the airport. It's walking distance from Terminal 1 and as most SWs have apartments nearby it might be an option between flights.

The action on the promenade des Anglais is from downtown to Cagnes sur mer. (it is probably 10km long)
Rue de France is sometime a good place too.

hope you already got your answer. if not, here's what you do. stop by a news stand and pick up a "Semaine et Spectacle." in there back there will be some ads. some in quasi-english. figure $80 to $140 for incall. by a detailed map of the city with a street index while you're buying the "Semaine en Spectacle." you'll need it to find their place. the "06" little magazine/wantad news paper runs the same kind athing, but it's harder to find in a pinch.

prostitution is legal in France (pimps aren't) so you won't have any trouble. they'll be discreet about it though.

the Promenade des Anglais route isn't a bad one. Lots of action cheap.

I join Havanaman and Didier for the compliments to the scene in nice, beutiful city and beutiful working girls! The best thing for e is that the SW there don't dress or make up like SW, they look like normal girls - the neigbour's daughter type.
I didn't have a car so I walked through Promenades des Anglais. There were realy beutiful East European girls there, as well as blacks and some transexuals. Without a car, it's not so easy to pick up a girl if your hotel is not close. If you're lucky, the girl yo want has a car, and she can drive to your hotel or to her place if she has one. If not, you can take a taxi. Some of the girls are willing to do it in the alley, 30E for BJ or 50E for everything, but this is not so nice to do it outside... For going to the hotel, the price was 80E (this is what they told me at least...).

First I took one good looking girl to my hotel for 80E. I gave her the money, and then she demanded I'll take a shower. then, when I was in the shower - She tried to go away! Luckily I was ready for this case. My wallet was near me, and I kept the door open, so I had time to catch her. but be carefull - This can be very annoying! I was so angry that I took my money back and sent her away.

I then went back to the Promenades, and found a very lovely girl from Russia. She was so nice!!! I could realy fall in love with her. Her name was Tanya and by her looks I think she was from the Asian part of the former USSR.

By the way, I don't speak a word in French but I didn't have any problem with that. Some of them know english, and the ones that don't, you can speak with them with signs, and they will undersand.

Just confirming didier_sthlm. I stayed at the Hotel Palais Maeterlinck last week. Confirm no problems with taking the women back to my room after 11pm. Did not try in day light, as I felt reluctant due to the very obvious opulence of the place. Eastern European women are outstanding. Not only do they give the best BBBJ ever, but their eye & skin colour…. green, blue, grey average… skin cream-white. Fantastic. I still can’t get the thought of that BBBJ out of my head. There is alot of hookers to be found in Nice. Mostly after dark, you'll find them along the Promenade des Anglais and Rue de France in particular.
On the promenade close to the old town, there are transsexuals, some very beautiful. Some extremely beautiful black *****s close to Negresco Hotel. Otherwise it's mostly eastern european girls, many of them are very young and beautiful, especially on Rue de France. Prices ranges from 50-70€ for "l'amour" and 30-40€ for "la pipe" (blowjob).

My guess is you're French. If you're looking, the simplest solution in the south of France is to pickup a copy of "La Semaine en Spectacle" and look in the back. $80 to $120 fs incall. Simple.
