With 72 hours on my hands in Paris, I thought I'd check out the old Rue St Denis stroll to see if it still was in business. On a fine Saturday afternoon, I am pleased to report that the street action was brisk. There were, I would say, 20 or so women working. Most were on the older side. Most appeared to be French, with a few who may have moved from Africa more recently. I expected more Eastern Europeans, but found none.

They were not hard to find. From the Strasbourg / St Denis metro stop, I made my way along Blvd St Denis in the 2e Arrondissement to Rue St Denis and turned left. Within a block I began to encounter women dressed like hookers standing in front of doorways. They also work the side streets one block either way of Rue St Denis.

The greatest concentration appeared to be on Rue Blondel between Rue St Denis and Rue Sebastapol. I attempted to strike up a conversation with several of them, but found that my French was not acceptable. I was, however, able to discern that the going rate quoted was €50.

I zig-zagged down the side streets to Rue Réaumur, then doubled back on Rue St Denis to the corner of Rue de Caire. In front of a building on a corner, I struck up a conversation in broken Franglais with a blonde I would say was in her 40s. She was wearing thigh-highs, a mini-skirt and showed ample decolletage. I was suitably interested. We agreed upon €50 and proceeded into the doorway where she stood and up five flights of stairs. After the transaction, she appeared to try and upsell me, but not too hard. With a shrug, we began to remove our clothes.

Service was rather mechanical. Kissing was out the question, we remained anonymous to one another. Nonetheless, the desired result was achieved.

She made me clean up in the kitchen sink, where I had a full view of her bathroom, including a bidet. That struck me as odd, but who was I to argue?

Nothing compared to Brussels or Amsterdam, but hey, it was something.

I am in the unenviable position of being able to add an address to the list, without being able to recommend it. I came across an advertisement for massage by Korean women (yes, I know: Korean my foot...) in Boulogne-Billancourt - just outside the city boundaries next to Porte Saint Cloud. On the plus side, they give a full nude body massage like in the old days. On the minus side, the prices are very high. I paid something like 180 Euros for the right to "carress" my masseuse, who washed my hands with some disinfectant and encouraged me to not only carress but also finger her. However, despite my hopes, even at that price a BJ was not included. I went twice to sample different girls. The second was more "commercante" and intimated that extra services could be included for a hefty premium. I passed. I don’t visit the ladies anymore, but I do walk down the street.
Unfortunately there is no new talent coming in, and the women get older and rarer as time passes.
They now tend not to stand out in the street.
They instead congregate - usually together - in groups of up to 4 or 5 at a cafe. Ages are usually 40 and upwards.
If you weren't in the know, you might notice nothing untoward.
The corner cafe on Caumartin and Joubert is one haunt, usually the table on the street furthest to the east, away from Galerie Lafayette. The Dahlia cafe is another... usually inside. I guess with the winter coming, they will hang out inside. There may be punters sitting beside them. You can only be sure they are SWs from the knowing looks, and the attempts to dress just a tad provocatively.
There is also an Asian cafe beside the Dahlia where Anna the Moroccan hangs out still in the evenings, sometimes alone. Generally they stick to the cafes on the south side of the street, on the Opera side, and they tend not to be in the Japanese restaurants (this, alog with Sarko, is the death of them).

Over the past year, if you go one street behind (rue de la Victoire, where it intersects Joubert at a fork), there are 2 or 3 SWs who actually do stand on the street… one 50y old blond, one brunette, and a younger more attractive one occasionally.

There was just one time over the past year when I saw no one at 20h30. More likely cos all busy. Best is really to aim to plan a meal there, and monitor the scene. Better still, join and drink/eat with the women (drinks all reasonably priced).

You are in the wrong country. As a Amercan (ugly yes) I found no brothels whatsoever in Paris, one or two street walkers asking for 200+ euros etc. Take the train up to Brussells or Amsterdam or better yet one of the FKK's in Germany.

Sorry maybe others can help, but while I loved Paris there was very little monger avaialble and what was cost more than what is reasonable

My experience is limited, but I did find an acceptable street walker on Rue Joubert for 70 euros. But be forewarned, most were older and would require a long visit to the Brasserie to get your beer goggles on.

Maybe you should. Though, after our exchange I went back to re-sample the place. This time round they had three masseuses working, including my old (!) friend and one who looked half-way attractive. I would, however, object to the word "young" - except perhaps in a Parisian context where women well into their 40s refer to themselves as "jeune femme". My guess will be that they retain five employees, not all of whom are there at the same time. The half-way attractive woman was busy giving a foot massage to an elderly lady so I was assigned the third provider, a typical masseuse with the body of a wrestler and, judging from her hands and face, 35-40 years of age. In all fairness, though, she DID give me a good, professional sports massage, and she DID offer me a "finition manuelle" (handjob) for an additional 30 euros at the end. I accepted, but perhaps shouldn't have: she put more of her soul into the massage than the finition. I hypothesise that she is a real masseuse who does the HJ out of necessity rather than a working girl who has learned to do a massage as well.

So... summing up, you were right: they do offer this service. But, Shanghai it ain't.

I visited the shop in Mazagran last week, and I don't think they're necessarily offering an "extra service".
