I figured it was time to update the general information regarding Georgia and your thoughts on visiting.

First of all, mongering is alive and well. Despite some negative reports, I continue to be the optimist and enjoy the hunt. The action has moved off the lower main street, Rustaveli, with the closing of several of the old haunts. But there are many saunas, bars, and restaurants along upper Rustaveli, Gamsakhurdia, Chavchavadze and other avenues. If you can't score a beautiful girl it is your own fault.

Stepping down to street girls, there are still plenty on Gamsakhurdia and on the Right Bank of the Mtkvari. When they give you a price - it is generally for one throw or 3 hours. Whichever comes first.

Asking those who know for phone calls will bring the girls directly to the door of your hotel. At the Marriotts and the Sheraton, security is getting a piece of the action.

For Americans - you no longer need a visa to come to Georgia. This also applies to EU citizens, and citizens of Japan. Not sure about others.

Georgia has adopted a Ukrainian tradition and now has apartments by the night $35 - $50 US dollars per night. I don't know much about them, but they adevertise in a new Real Estate newspaper that is in English.

There are no Escort Agencies, although in Batumi there is an old lady who is the central contact for a group of girls. On my last trip to Batumi I used her to connect and ended up with a nice looking red headed Ukrainian girl who is spending her summer in Georgia.

Street crime against foreigners has risen lately, so don't go walking in Tbilisi alone. Spend the money for a cab. It has not been reported that girls are being used for bait. Outside of Tbilisi there have been no such reports of increased crime.

July and August bring a huge number of girls to Kobaleti, and Ureki. These beach resorts are known for cheap guest houses that lack privacy. Spend a little extra money for a room, and then go shopping at any night bar in either place. Ureki is smaller, but Kobaleti is more tiring as it stretches for miles along the beach.
