Poti is still the sailor's town it has been, but it has gotten much harder to find a lady in the last few months.

The "New Seamens Club has closed. The "Old Seamens Club" has closed.

The Neptune Club is still going, but the girls are rugged. You might try there and talk to a girl. Ask her if she has a younger friend. If she does, and she calls and makes the arrangements for you, slip her 20 Lari after the girl arrives. The Neptune is fun anyway if you just want to go and drink some beer and shoot the bull with the bartender, Russiko. She speaks English, Russian, Georgian, Ukrainian, some Turkish and some Greek. She might even ask you to dance.

The Mercury is still open but is absolutely bottom of the barrel. Of course that may appeal to some, who like their girls heavy and sweaty but willing to do absolutely anything for the money.

Finally, there is a place south of Poti about 7 km called (and I am not kidding) "The Nest of Love". I have not gone in, so if someone does, let us hear about it!

I just spent a raucous weekend in Batumi. So here is some of the info you want to know. Especially considering this is the slow season! Summertime is even better.

Hotels: Price range from $60 lari to $250 lari. I have now stayed at the Hotel Mercury several times. I pay $100 lari per night for deluxe room. Great place to stay with a sauna and plunge pool at the hotel. Until 10PM there is massage available in sauna for $10 lari 1 hour back massage, $20 lari 1 hour full massage. I have not partaken and this is not a sex massage. But it is a good deal for a massage.

Just ask at the desk about girls. They will make calls for you. If you don't like the one(or three!) who come, tell them you want a different one. No problem. The clerks speak English. Many Russian and Ukrainian heritage girls in Batumi, and I saw 9 different girls the last 4 days - all beautiful! Price range offered was a high of $100 USD (and she wouldn't bargain so we let her go) down to $80 lari. For the entire night.

The hotel officially closes the sauna at 10PM. But each night they kept it "open", but locked so that we could party inside. Take lots of condoms and change them as you change girls if you want. They had little shame as I took one to a private corner for a blow job and then another into the shower for a nice anal fuck. One of the girls was a masochist, and she took a whole lot of spanking and nipple twisting. Even from her girlfriends.

On one afternoon I called one of the girls and she immediately returned to the hotel for 3 hours of one on one. I fell asleep and when I woke up she was gone. She never asked me for money that day. I saw her again and she didn't ask for more than another night's standard fee.

When we left yesterday, we (two of us) tipped the front desk about $100 lari. These guys worked their ass off finding us girls, going to the store for us for cigarettes, vodka, beer, champagne, snacks - anything and everything. The girls swore up and down that they did not have to pay the hotel. I'm not sure but the hotel was awesome.

Language - Primarily Russian. A fair amount of Georgian. A small amount of English. And the one girl was fluent in French, while another spoke Turkish.

Phone numbers directly to girls on request. Now that I think about it, prices may be higher in summer when the town is full of men.

To the north of Poti is the separatist region of Abkhazia. I am told that the beaches are spectacular. But I am not able to travel there so I can't give you the lowdown.

The largest city in Abkhazia is Sokhumi, and while the Georgian government objects, there is train service from Socchi, Russia to Sokhumi.

What about the cities in the North of Poti?

Poti is a sailor's city. Pure and simple. Kind of dirty and nasty. Okay, very dirty and nasty. But to me, that can be charming.

The basics, as I am first to write here about Poti:

Language - very very very little English. All girls speak Russian and/or Georgian(not even close to Russian). Some girls speak a little German. A larger number speak some Turkish.

Hotels - Downtown is the Anchor Hotel. Costs about $45 dollars maximum. (Pay the max! You get hot water and air conditioning/heat.) In Maltakva(southern edge of city) there is a hotel called Golden Lake. About $30 dollars a night. You roll the dice here on whether you have electricity or not. You will rarely if ever have hot water first thing in the morning, so shower before sleep. In Grigoleti, there is nice new modern hotel. I haven't tried it yet, but I will and let you know.

Every open bar in Poti is a brothel or is filled with girls. Most every restaurant too. Prices are very negotiable. They will start at $100 dollars if you are American. The quality of the girls is quite low overall. So if you spot a good looking girl - snag her then and there. Somehow. I found my first at the New Seamen's Club. (300 meters from Anchor Hotel). First time out I paid $100 lari (not dollars) because she had red hair and looked decent. I have fucked her off and on for the last year and a half - I give her $50 lari each time now (Approx $25 dollars).

That's a good start for Poti. There is more, but I will just get your attention to the city for the time being.
