LR can easily be reached via S-bahn from central Dusseldorf. Get off at IKEA Kaarst station and then it's a five minute walk.

I looked at GT on the train and it would be a couple of hours each way, and not direct either. Maybe I could try to get out to LR on Sunday. The other one maybe not too far away seems to be Acapulco. The website says that there are live shows there, which might be interesting.

I had always good experiences with Living Room, it is located in Kaarst, near Düsseldorf, you can reach it by train: Regio Bahn, it is a ride of 25 minutes, you exit the station IKEA.
