Although getting dirtier by the year (dirty is different to seedy), I have never felt any danger from street people, just like recent posters say. So I won't add to that discussion directly.

I think a big risk in the RLD is picking up a street prostitute. This is illegal. As Kosher Kowboy says, Police are everywhere, sometimes looking like rough sleepers, and they, or city authorities, are very keen at following anyone seen to be picking up a street prostitute (who are normally junkies) and delivering a very unpleasant experience.

As to street prostitution seems to be ' another place' to go for those who might be interested. On the way to dinner from an ' excursion' with a friend we were headed back in to the city center and about a block or two prior to passing the Skyline Mall / Messe area there were some benches (like any benches in any city) except these were (sort of like couches are occupied) had ladies sitting on them. It was explained to me these are street walkers (although seated), city knows of it yet they let it go on. Maybe this is a ' controlled' setting type thing, kind of odd they would permit it so close to perhaps one of the cities most frequented area for visitors of Messe but it is Germany; seems anything and everything is here.

The street name was Theodor-Heuss-Allee.

You either take them to your home / hotel or use your car. I apologize I (we) did not stop and sample this offering so I could provide a review just dropping it here as a public service announcement. I have no idea on costs except that several years ago was 20 Euros as my friend had a friend who did one. The funniest part to that story was the guys asked how much for a half and half and she told him 20 Euros and he asked if that was with a condom referring to the blowjob though she thought he was asking about to fucking. She told him if he wanted to use a condom to fuck it would be 30 Euros (upsell for covered full service) . When he inquired why covered was more than AO she told him ' Condom takes too long, more work'.

I happened to stay in Frankfurt for about 2 days in April. During my trip I visited the infamous red light street. As I went usually during day time so options were pretty limited I went through many hauses. Chose one in euro jaise for 50 euros 30 minutes. The girl was pretty but the service was pretty average. Second day I ordered from online from skyline escort. The cost was 200 euros which is allot but it was 100 times better than going to the street. Online they don't agree on anything less 180-200 euros.

But overall since the service was great I didn't complain.

Last year I stayed at the Leonardo Hotel Frankfurt City Center which was super close to the Frankfurt Central Station. While the room was small, it provided a good starting point. It is close to RLD and while the area surrounding the train station and RLD is slightly sketchy, it didn't feel unsafe. It was surely a multicultural experience. From the familiar Irish pub around the corner to the endless Donar Kebab stands.

There were plenty of folks around at most hours of the day / night and I too agree that foot traffic makes for a safer environment. Just don't be stupid. Don't carry excessive amounts of cash, flaunt anything fancy, don't stagger around drunk and be mindful of your surroundings. Other than that, enjoy the experience. To me, it beats a Marriott with a Starbucks and other big name corporations.

I stayed on the edge of Hauptbahnhof area for years when I would come to Frankfurt. One of the fanciest hotels in Frankfurt (Frankfurter Hof) is about 4 blocks away. I also used the Mercure, and the Ibis, but one of them has the smallest rooms I've ever stayed in? Think it's the Mercure. You could touch each wall with your hands while lying in bed, and still close the room window with your feet.

I never felt threatened or worried. It's a 24 hour area with a lot of commerce. Ditto the RLD. While I never noticed the police, directly, the simple fact that you have a lot of foot traffic makes for safer environment. As to the FUCK OFF, I'm a smaller guy, I take the idea that it's easier to just walk away. I also think that Nein Danke is just perfect as you keep moving. I've gotten into more trouble arguing in German (as a native speaker), then just letting them go after the next person..

I'm with KK, I like a little of the shadiness associated w RDLs! So, I'm going to check it out in a few weeks for the first time. I'm still a little unsure where to stay. Is Holiday Inn Frankfurt. Alte Oper the best choice? Also, does anyone have a link to a good map of the RDL? All these letters / numbers get a little confusing. Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken the T stands for Taunusstrasse and E means Elbestrasse. Google Maps should do it.

For those who plan to roam the RLD, one of the most useful expressions in German: Verpiss dich ("Pis s off!") It's what we learn in our first Deutsche Sprachkurs (language course), Gruendsuetffe 1 for Night-Stalkers.

No map needed, the buildings discussed are all concentrated at the intersection of two streets. Can find them easily. As to safety the police are everywhere, some even look like junkies; can see wires on some folks if look very closely. Some look like Johns. Yes people try to solicit you to come in to shady places or handouts just go tell them to go fuck themselves; they disappear quickly. I even see the pimps tallking to the police sharing a smoke; no one wants trouble. IMHO the place is very safe.

Hotels all over, all my bookings are in the train station area for this year or up in Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund and Essen but next year I plan to switch back and forth between the Hbf area and the area in and around the Ziel; better food, better stores and the Creampie Express goes Choo Choo to the end of the line to paradise from there as well. If staying a long time plenty of corporate housing with a minimum month rental but I find it easier just to book hotels and inevitably in a month plus times there were be a Messe in town of some kind which is a great time to book up in the NRW but be warned if there is Messe in FFMain and Dortmund plays at home the same time good luck! That is when you book in Leverkusen; Best Western and IBIS both are next to Leverkusen Mitte; from there go anywhere either Luderland or train to Bochum, Dortmund, Duisburg etc.

Tons of garbage with no hope of working in an FKK however IMHO maybe 5-10 percent of the girls are hot and could and some have worked in the FKKs. Just the other day saw one, could easily be working the floor of a big 5 but she is also 100430. In that Rot Haus if I spelled it right a good 40-50 percent are ' lookers'.

T32 where I go is nothing to write home about, most I see are easily 28-45 probably, some with some chunk in their stomachs or big asses or hot body and ugly. E44 that day had some very pretty girls, many of them could work the floor of an FKK. My advise for you based on your history of places been and where you went etc. I would say skip it. I happen to like sleaze, the red lights excite me themselves so more me it is worth it and I save money. Optics wise it stinks with many exceptions if that makes any sense.
