Of course, I can only give snapshots, but it seems that Duisburg is on a real down at the moment. This is backed up by the experience of several other visitors. The Krefeld laufhaus is as you say like a deserted tenement. The problem with NRW is that the travelling time between RLDs can be significant But all areas are dominated by BulgRom workers. Maybe more Latinos in Frankfurt, but everywhere they are reduced because they can only work if, for example, they are German citizens, married to German citizens and so on.
