Everyone goes to Filis and then maybe checks out Kolonou (the start of the 10 Euro area near Metaxourgio -- name in Greek on google maps if that helps to recognise it. Just down the hill haha from Omonia https://goo.gl/maps/zAw3S11HxzA2).

Tbh, for a one time or quick visitor, it's what Greece does well. You do need to get into the swing of it, getting fired up quite quickly though (most places will show you to a room where you have a few minutes to 'unwind' before the 'lady' arrives. Otherwise vitamin "V" is your best buddy).

Someone's mentioned X-bar, which gives you lots of opportunities for teasing and flirtatious warm up (in between overpriced lady drinks); but to get a relaxed time at a good price there are two main options: one is the studios, as I've probably mentioned, and the other is the massage parlors. Yeah they don't hang around in Athens afterwards, unfortunately, part of the highly mechanical and distant approach you mention (we are both spoiled by the GFE of Asia, I think). I'm resigned to that whenever in Athens because the customer flow is far more busy and in the 10 Euro area (the name of which I have forgotten again) they clarify an even strict shorter time to finish within (it was something like 10 or 15 minutes), meaning someone needs to arrive absolutely fully loaded and already right on the edge to ensure nothing goes wrong. I never encountered Bareback in Athens, but this was based on assumption (as you say, the vibe from some of these girls can be borderline hostile as it is, making a request for that seem highly unlikely to even consider). Hit four of the 10 euro houses close to my hotel. Preferred these to the main strip of Filis. (seemed like less customers as well).

The girls were just as hot, and gave just as good / bad service. No up-selling. Some of the rooms had porn playing on TVs.

Then went to X-bar (strip club) - one hot girl, two average, three or four that were fat and past expiration date. Hung out for 20 min and took off. There were a number of strip clubs in that area, but didn't see the point.

Took a taxi to the top of Filis. I saw on wordsexwiki (or whatever) that there were 3 strip clubs within easy grasp of Filis. (one at top and two a street over to the left). You walk in the door and sometimes immediately are in the main room. Other times have to go upstairs or downstairs. An older lady (sometimes a man) is there to tell you to wait, or tell you 20 euro. A girl comes out 70% of the time. On average the girls tonight were good bodies, average to not so great faces. Didn't see anything truly horrible.

One of them had hearts and cutout paper leading up the hall. Both ended on the 1st floor with a door and buzzer. There was a peephole and camera. I rang and knocked on both doors but no-one opened the door. (I'm white, 40 yo, presentable, businessman).

Wasn't sure what I was getting into here. So left the watch, credit cards, most of the money at home. Just a burner wallet with couple hundred euro. The area was much more run down than I would have expected. I'm not a criminal but even I wanted to to mug myself on some of those streets! Doh. Only once in Athens did I hear - "Greek only" before I even got in the door but I wondered if this may refer to language barrier rather than some joint exclusive to Greek visitors. The mamasan may not know enough English to have the hassle of dealing with us. No matter, I simply moved on to the next brothel with no problem. In Bali (which I'm well acquainted with) the fear may have been down to a mythology about frightening size, and occasionally Girls there even refuse Europeans based on this fear, which is annoying. I was in hotel Stainly. No room key was required for using the elevator. My outcall girl came to my room without any problem. At least she didn't mention about any problem due to the reception. Our meeting was in late afternoon.
