Somehow I feel that the girls will be ready but the service levels will definitely not be the same. As mentioned in some posts below, they will really shy away from kissing, 69, fingering etc and only provide these service to very regular customers.

We need to wait and watch on this. Too early to comment. But I can be wrong (really hope that I am wrong.

I received questions in PM about the details of social distancing measures in Hungary, so here you are a few important points.
...probably from Monday Step 1 of the easing will come into effect in Budapest as well (decision to be announced on Saturday evening).

The predicted announcement is done, Step 1 of the easing process is valid from Monday in Budapest. It is also announced that unless something serious negative turn occurs in the pandemic numbers, Budapest will follow the further easing steps valid for the rest of Hungary with two weeks delay, which means that Step 2 would come into effect as of June 2nd.

And one correction after reading the detailed text of the decree: big wedding parties up to 200 guests will be allowed "only" within Step 3, so from early June in the countryside and from mid-June in Budapest. (I find even that too quick and early, but that's the regulation announced). About other events there is no official ruling yet, "unofficially" they are all banned until August 15th. However, this is a strange situation: this measure was announced by the head of the PM's office a few weeks ago at the official weekly press conference of his office, and all the interested organizers followed suit and called off the events and festivals (including Sziget festival) with definitive effect. But just a few days ago a media outlet found out that this announcement never got formulated later in a decree or other law, which of course caused uproar among the interested parties. And while the big international events like Sziget Festival will certainly remain called off now, but considering the general mood and tendency of easing, local events may have a chance, I guess.

About the possibility and conditions of international traveling: I read about plans that Italy (yes, Italy) is willing to open up from June 3rd, so the schedule I wrote about a few days ago may be even more dynamic, at least for travels within the EU (and perhaps other European countries) Personally I'm a bit afraid of that pace, and shall keep my "personal measures" observed until I feel convinced that the pandemic is really under control, at least for the summer season. (For example, in Hungary big wedding parties are in habit, and while any such event has been banned since March, now weddings up to 200 guests are allowed from Monday. Imagine how any social distancing can be observed at such an event coming towards midnight, and I think that this is a step too quick and too far in the easing process right now. And free traveling from and to Italy gives me the same feeling, just beware of the story in Korea, where one single guy going out in the party zone on a Saturday night sparkled a new local outbreak with dozens of newly infected people).

I received questions in PM about the details of social distancing measures in Hungary, so here you are a few important points.

The first measures were banning social events and entertainment premises (concerts, cinemas, theaters) in early March, then came the first major step with closing schools and restricting schedules of non-food shops and outlets from March 17th (including hotels, restaurants and bars). Then from March 27th came the "partial curfew" for the whole country, where the basis was that you can leave your home only "for good reason". But the list of "good reasons" included* items like walking and doing sports on your own (without limitations of distance from your home, like it happened in many countries), or visiting your hairdresser or manicurist (so you can imagine how serious it was. Actually the limitations were enforced rather by the lack of targets and events on the one hand, and the pictures that in those days came from Italy and Spain on the other hand, which made people worry and stay at home as much as they could. The police also focused on hindering people from grouping and coming together in public, so you could actually go anywhere (either by walking, biking or driving your car) undisturbed during the whole curfew, as long as you were on your own. (Especially in the daytime, perhaps in the night you could expect some random control) And one more measure from that package: people above 65 could (and can, because this measure is still in force nationwide) go shopping only between 9-12 am (and in that period younger people cannot mix in).

Then came some further limitations introduced by local authorities, like closing some frequented places and areas on weekends, for example Margaret Island in Budapest or the city of Szentendre and some other frequented tourist destinations. Budapest also introduced compulsory mask wearing on public transport vehicles and shops at the end of April, which from May 4th are extended to to the whole country as well. However, from the same May 4th, the curfew measures were lifted in the country with the exception of Budapest and Pest county, and even non-food shops were allowed to open at unlimited schedules, while any open-air service of other outlets (restaurants, cafes, bars, beaches and swimming pools) also received the green light. (The actual reaction of the outlets is very different, however, as some opened on the first possible day, while others are more cautious, and the same goes for the guests and clients). That's what I called earlier as Step 1 of the easing.

Then, from May 18th comes Step 2, when the remaining restrictions are also to be lifted, so the outlets can open their interior parts and services as well, but observing a number of physical distancing measures (and cinemas, theaters and other events remain banned), which is now valid for all counties, including now Pest county as well, and only Budapest would remain under the original curfew measures. However, this huge difference is now absolutely unreasonable (and is part of a political game between the government and Budapest), and probably from Monday Step 1 of the easing will come into effect in Budapest as well (decision to be announced on Saturday evening).

*Of course "visiting a sexworker" was not named on the list of good reasons, but actually nobody controlled or sanctioned it, and it only depended on the willingness of provider and client to take the health risks. Some girls remained "open" for the whole period (but usually with limitations of the services, especially kissing and 69 got limited), some took a break but have since returned, while many of them have not worked for a while. As I wrote it earlier, the market situation is still uncertain and volatile, as demand and supply seem to have shrunk at about the same pace, but there are some early signs of a buyer's market, and I'll write about it soon as well, with some examples and stories.

- Further easing in social distancing (let's call it Step 2) has just been announced officially in terms of the countryside (Hungary without the capital), which include the opening of hotels and the interior parts of restaurants for example. Budapest is still lagging behind, but it's partly due to a political game, so I predict that Step 1 (the measures that are currently in force outside Budapest) will be announced in a few days. (One step lag is reasonable, but two steps certainly not).

- However, I would like to point out that as far as curfew measures are concerned in particular, they were never as strict as in other countries in the region. Actually, they were (or in Budapest have been) among the easiest in Europe, which has been important from the aspect of the sex market as well, of course. I mention this because my friends all over the world seem to be in the belief that Hungary has applied very strict measures. But the truth is, that measures of social distancing in general were / have been in the average zone in Europe, and the curfew measures in particular even below the average.

- As far as traveling from abroad is concerned: Hungary will probably follow the Germany-Austria line. Those two countries plan to open their borders from June 15th (with the exception of the Austrian-Italian border), but already from this weekend control will be only occasional on the German-Austrian border. From next Monday crossing the Austrian-Hungarian border will be easier as well (like the traffic of trains for example will resume according to normal schedule, but with special pandemic measures of course), and by the above mentioned date of June 15th I expect the Austrian-Hungarian border to open up completely. This would mean of course, that from that on Hungary is in general available from Western Europe (perhaps except for a few countries), and probably the same would apply to the neighboring EU countries as well. But in terms of overseas connections I'm still skeptical. (However, if an American is already in Europe with the necessary documents, it'll be probably OK).
