However, a couple of important information are missing:

Before writing my report, I want to confirm what Albert has wrote about taxis.. Zona Taxi are perfect to/from the airport, but, as usual, pay attention to change (the only way for them to take some more money from you due to fixed rate). I also had the same "strange" experience of same travel = differen prices two times.. I understood that it depends by two main factor:

I have recently spent a few days here and I would like to share my views and experiences.
First of all taxis.
Many of them try to rip you off, as in many other places around the globe.
Just an example. Outside the airport I went to ZonaTaxi area. There is small counter where you go to tell your destination and to get a ticket with the calculated fare. Mine was HUF 4.200. When I got to my hotel I gave taxi driver 10.200 for him to give 6.000 change. This bastard gave me HUF 200 and EUR 2 back. As the EUR 2 corresponds to about HUF 460, he thought I had taken 600 instead of 6.000 !!!
He was quite wrong, as I pointed out his mistake. Then he started to act as if he made confusion and immediately gave me 6.000.
Another case. One day I went from hotel to a destination and when I came back, following same roads on similar traffic conditions, with my great surprise I paid 50% only of previous fare. In both cases meter was on, so maybe first driver manipulated something.
In all cases when they arrive at destination they leave meter on, so by the time you prepare money and they prepare change fare always increases a little.
