I am from Rome and I know that my city is not the best place to have a good time with hookers. But for sure you can have better experiences that that "roman dog day" you had. You just need to know a little bit better where to go and what to do/not do.

Actually I would recommend SW. It's not true that it's dangerous or unsafe. And it might happen that police stops you to check your passport/ID while you're having a good time in the car. I took one day off my business trip in Rome, I want just to report about it. If you do not want to read all this long report of my day, I summarize here the essential points:

Stay away from so-called “Club-Privee”, or “Nights Clubs” in Rome… Italy is no Germany or Holland. Beside very rare exceptions (of which I only heard about), you won’t have real action in these places. Just some chatting, dancing, that will be all. These places are basically rip-off.

Contacting a pro you read about in the net, may be not so easy as it looks. Best is to call them in the morning and try to reach their places quickly. Taxi can be an option. If they are cute (or at least if they look cute in their home pages !) they will be busy and difficult to reach; and even once you catch one and agree to meet, they might change their mind quickly. While you move to reach their place, they may be already busy with somebody else…do not expect professionalism in Rome.

So here starts my story. I landed in Rome at late evening, I used Airfrance and they lost my luggage. I spent two hours in the Fiumicino airport, discussing with the Alitalia staff (now it seems Airfrance is with Alitalia, I can’t tell which is worse here…) about my luggage, anyway this is another story.

In curiousity mood I was today in Suburra that is the place mentioned some posts below where you can find SW in Rome downtown.

In a club it is not alowed because the owners would be profiting from the action same as a pimp if there would be a differance. I have even heard that people that rented there apartments to prostitutes can get in trouble.

Went there about 22:30. With my surprise, I didn’t pay anything at entrance, no girl inside, just opening time. The clerk there was very polite, I tried to ask about the activities there, he said that the place is basically a strip show club. You can talk and dance with the girls but that’s it. This is in disagreement with reports in wsgforum where Pigalle was listed among as Privee-Clubs, where action should be involved.

Some girls were coming in, and I began to chat with one of them, a Romanian called Sabrina, she was pretty nice. I was thinking the clerk could not tell all the truth because organized prostitution is prohibited in Italy, so I talked to the girl, but she confirmed that nothing happens in the club. The small “Privee” rooms (sort of) are for chatting, that’s it. She told me that often people ask for hand jobs or so, but they have to refuse. I guess in these bars you can convince a pro or semi-pro to go out with you, reach an hotel and have sex there… well… does not mean too much to me. Economically not for sure, every twenty minutes you talk with a girl is 20 euro and every drink is 10 euro (even if she doesn’t want to drink, every 20 minutes or so, a guy come and put a drink on her table. That’s on you. Even, a lady came and gave her sweets and cigarettes, then she asked ME 10 euro). This is how it works in these clubs, and time flies fast in there... I chatted with the Rumanian girl one hour, she chain-smoked on me, talked a lot and danced a little. After an hour I was out of there, 90 euro.

I really do not understand the meaning of these places. If you want to enjoy the evening you have to stay few hours, you are going to spend 100 euro per hour only to be there. Where is the fun, the nude show ? Chatting with the girls…? I don’t think so. If your goal is to get laid with a pro, you can find them anywhere else.

Anyway that was my day… sorry it was pretty uncool, but hope you find some useful info for your next trip in Rome. Nice town, pretty unique atmosphere, however for girls and related stuff I was not impressed.
