Please note, that grey economy is really large in Latvia and official statistics do not tell the thruth about real income level. Fact is, that price level in Riga has rosen past years a lot, and amount you mentioned is simply not enough to live in this city.

Well of course prices are going up in Latvia, property prices alone have gone up 37% since last year. I bought 2 properties in Daugaspils last year and the paperwork has just been completed.One property cost me €85000 and is now worth €114000 ( market value) and I haven't even done anything with it yet.

Well recommended. I always use Patricia. Very honest and reliable. The apartment in Terbatas is their worst, and don't opt for the food-stocked fridge: go to the supermarket Remi and stock up yourself. It's much cheaper.

I would never use this patricialtd. They know how to get your money for nothing. Try any 3-4 stars hotels or simply ask the taxi drivers for some owners of a privet appartment in old riga. Most of the taxi drives inside old Riga either own appartments their or know who does.

Riga is expensive and the girls aren't interested in foreigners any more, except for money, drinks or meals out. I love the place, but it's no place for mongering.
Avoid Roxy like the plague. It's run by the Russian mafia, and the bouncers seem to be protecting hard drug dealers who operate in the club. It is also VERY common for your drink to be drugged with a sleeping draught. I still go, but I always drink a bottled drink, and if I ever leave it to go to the toilet or to strut my stuff (has to be seen to be appreciated!) on the dance floor, I always abandon the old one and buy a new one.
