1500 USD = approx. 1030 EUR = 724 LVL. Gross. In capital Riga it's not a problem to have such gross salary if you have any kind of education.

Two weeks in Riga. I was very very disapointed! Years ago Riga was a hit. Now is shit!

1) Prices have exploded: In 2005 a beer (in the Oldtown, average) costed 1 Lat (=1, 4 €). Now 2, 2 Lat! Escortgirls costed in 2005 normaly 25 LAT per hour. Now 80 Lat and more! Some want 140 LAT (=200 €). Many girls left the country because they earn much more money in foreign countries. Massage costed in Lilami 25 Lat now 35 or 40 LAT. And so on! Remeber: Average income is 150 'til 300 LAT. Inflation in 2007 was 13%!
