Amsterdam I felt is a bit "expensive", girls, hotel, ticket and the food there are much more expensive. So I thought maybe I would try another city in the Netherlands. Near the RLD there is an ice cream shop. Quite often I do have to order in English there. But it wouldn't get you a salary for an expensive hobby. Amsterdam, Utrecht and Leiden are university cities and many people there do not speak Dutch. A few houses from my home there is a Russian working in software developing in telecom. He speaks Russian and English. If you work in finance there should be possibilities too. In Holland everyone speaks English but we socialise in Dutch! In Germany most people from 40 and younger speak English. I do think that Berlin is much the same as Holland.
