The train connections to and from Schiphol Airport are very good.
Train-tickets can be bought from vending machines in the baggage claim areas. Coins are best, but atm-cards are accepted too. Special machine know how to handle c/c as well.
ABNAMRO have exchange booths in the baggage claim areas.
Buying a ticket at the ticketsales windows in the meeting hall (which sits one level above the tracks) is €0.50 per ticket more than from the vending machines.
Food4Thought:
If I had less than 4 hours, I would not leave the airport!
The The Hague RLD is not much further away than the Amsterdam RLD!

With regard to the trains and ticketing machines - even on a Sunday the trains from Schipol to Amsterdam Centraal are very frequent (every 15-20 mins). You won't necessarily have to have change in coins for the ticket machines either. They all accept Debit and Credit cards - all you will need is your card and PIN. But a return ticket to save time on your way back.

From clearing customs I reckon you can be in the RLD in 30-40 minutes by train. It's only 5 minutes walk, if that, from Centraal Station to the Wallens.

Say you concentrate your efforts around Sexy Land, where most of the nicest girls are to be found, you might make a choice in 20 minutes, negotiate a 15 minute session for 50 Euro and be back at Centraal Station 5 minutes after that. Say another half hour to get back to Schipol and you're looking at around 2 hours to return to the airport from initially leaving. Passing through Schiphol can be very slow. Even with your boarding pass you still have the problems of immigration queues inbound & outbound and buying the train ticket. I think your best course is to leave a day earlier and split the journey in Amsterdam, shouldn't cost more and will give you a whole day to enjoy the place.
