You won't pick up a woman in a mixed sauna, its not a place to find women. Most transatlantic flights from the US to Amsterdam are overnight, this is a great opportunity to get some sleep as well as avoid jet-lag. Everyone should visit Amsterdam on their mongering tour. While working on the continent and in London it became a regular weekend stop for me. I also began taking direct trips there from the US and then going on to my final destination. Here is my recommendation on how to make your first trip and weekend successful.

Most flights from the US arrive early in the morning. Let your hotel know in advance you will need an early check in. They are usually accomodating. I recommend the Marriott. It is a good central location. There are always a lot of taxis outside the airport. Most are very clean Mercedes and are reliable and fair.

Get checked in, take a shower and go out right away. Do not go to sleep even though you are tempted. This will only ruin you for later. Get a light breakfast. Walk to the RLD. It will wake you up and also give you a chance to experience the rest of Amsterdam. You will also see a lot of the beautiful Dutch women.

I have found that the best looking girls in the RLD are in the alleys near the church. But a first time visitor should walk around and see all the sights. But come back here. You can negotiate but you may not get too far. Be prepared for them to keep asking for more money. One thing I did find was that going there early you get the girls who are not too worn out. Be prepared - the action is not GFE. Howeve it is a good way to release the tension from the long flight and get a little taste of Amsterdam. ( I have never been to a Prive so I cannot compare)
