I looked on the net for some maps. There are 3 redlight zones in Amsterdam. The first one is the redlight district "Wallen". If you come from the Central Train Station and walk in the direction off the center on the left hand you will find the redlight district. Just go left before the "Beurs" Check out the map. The nice girls are in the area of the Dollebegijnensteeg and the Trompetterssteeg.

The second area is the Spuistraat. Comming from the trainstation take the first street to the right. Then the first left and keep on walking on the right site. You will enter the Spui area. Check out the map, action is to be found in the Singel, Bergstraat and the Oude Nieuwstraat

The third area is close to the "Rijksmuseum". If you are at the "Museumplein" and look at the Rijksmuseum, then the street you are looking for is in the area on the right side. The street is called "Ruysdaelkade"

I just wanted to make a remark that Amsterdam's RLD isn't right place if someone wants to have descreet mongering experience. It reminded me my coutry's awful brothels minus women and child tourists. Maybe I was in the wrong time of the day (night actually). Maybe I should have been there earlier. The main RLD was full of beauties but hundreds fo watchful eyes is not my thing. I hope I didn't come across as condescending. Everything you say is true. The RLD is mainly a stomping grounds for drunk and stoned tourists and it's all set up for the quick trick. It's very fitting that it's an article from the NY Times, as what is being done to RLD in Amsterdam is very similar to what was done to Times Square in New York 15 years ago. It's safe to bring your kids to Times Square now, but it's not really any fun anymore.

Rizla definitely made the right choice going to the German Border. That's the thing to do if you have the time and the means. Shutting down the windows will certainly leave a demand; maybe some FKK type operations will open closer to Amsterdam to fill that niche. I can hope; at least where I live Amsterdam is about the easiest and cheapest city to fly to.

I didn't feel hory at all. Instead felt sorry for them. Because They can not make money in that mayhem. So headed to German Border for Ying Yang. At least they were no shouting tourists around.

I'm not sure what you were expecting. The RLD in Amsterdam has been full of tourists for a long time. It is what it is. The couples walking around pointing and laughing were kind of annoying but they didn't discourage me. Fuck 'em! But the way I see it, I was a tourist as well.

Comparing the RLD to Ying Yang is like apples and oranges. Or more precisely, fast food and an all-you-can-eat buffet. Totally different experiences.
