Took the train in the other direction today to Den Hague and found my way to Diane's Secret. Evidently not a well kept secret, because I was one of three in the selection process at the same time. I thought, while deadly bored in Doha Qatar, to spend some time and finally share my information on the local scene in The Hague. I know the place very well, but I never wrote about it. Time to rectify the situation.

This information is generic, and it is meant for first-timers as general presentation of the local scene. The Dutch forum is rich in detailed information, please refer to it for specifics.

There are a number of different options I know of:

1. Windows girls: two main places to consider, the Doubletstraat and the Geleenstraat. The Doubletstraat is for budget mongering, prices around 30 Euro for 15 mins. The place is run down, a very old street with very old houses. It is possible to find a few nice girls there, among a large majority of large, fat, old and ugly ladies. Almost all foreigners (Latina and East European). Quality is not assured, service can be a bit rushed, it is a bit of a hit or miss situation. Read the reports carefully to find the 'right' option for you.

Geleenstraat is more high level, 50 Euro for 15 mins., public includes many locals, girls are a mix of local, latina, east european and other nationalities as well. Quality is overall better, place is clean and recently repaved. Rooms are from average to elegant, and it is possible to find SM and other specialties as well.

2: Clubs. There are a number of clubs available, all of them with rather high quality. Prices vary between 80 Euro for half an hour and up to hundreds Euro, it depends how crazy you want to make it. Girls tend to be better than window girls (due to the club selection process) and accomodation can be between elegant to fancy. The clubs are not like the German FKK, they are more like a brothel, some of them with a bar, or a lounge. Lux rooms have Jacuzzi and similar amenities. Be aware that certain clubs, especially in the city centre, cater to diplomats, and have 'diplomatic' prices. Places I know are diane's secret and Stout Privehuis

5. Open clubs (Casa Cherda). A number of reports are available on the Forum. My experiences are mixed. While the place can be good value for money, it is also true that if you are out of luck you will sit in the lounge, drinking beer and watching TV for extended periods of time before a passable lady is available. There are always a few ladies sitting around, but these include a couple of very fat and / or very high mileage south americans, not attractive for me. The specialty of the place is 'show time', which normally happens in the evening just before closing time or when the lady co-ordinating the evening so decides. You can always decide to begin a show time by yourself, just ask the girl to fuck on one of the couches or on the bed. You get the public sex thrill.

6. Escorts. There are a number of escort options if you are in a hotel. Just google for escort the hague (or den haag) and you will find anything you want. Prices are variable, but generally above the 150 Euro / hour, photos tend to be reliable. Be aware, though, that many escort places are actually in Amsterdam, so girls must travel 50+ km. You have to make sure that the agency is actually in DH, or be prepared to pay for trasportation costs or a minimum of two hours (which some at 250+ / hour).

7. At least up to some time ago, there was also a street (tipplezone) where girls were offering their services, to be consumed in the car. All girls working there can not work elsewhere, normally drug addicts or HIV positive. I never tried this option, but I would steer clear of it if I were in your shoes.

For the first time visitor, residing in an hotel, I suggest the following options:

1. Geleenstraat. Almost all girls speak English, you can expect a reasonable level of service for idem price, in a clean and safe enviroment. It is overall better to go there before evening if possible, as the public deteriorates in late hours and so the security level.

2. Clubs. Nice selection of girls, very secure and clean, overall relaxing. A bit more expensive than window girls, but consider that you can get 30 mins for 80 v. 15 mins for 50. Better value for money.

3. Massage places. If you are not necessarily after sex, but happy with a massage and HJ, there are options available.

4. Escort agencies. Pricey, but confortably served in your hotel room. I have no notion of hotels refusing entrance to 'guests', but check before ordering if there are entry fees or registration issues.

Places to avoid for unexperienced mongers in DH, IMHO, are the Doubletstraat and private apartements. Especially with the latter I am very suspicious, a number of girls advertise unprotected sex, and there is no selection. Anybody can put an ad and start the business. There is a risk of contracting an STD or to be scammed.

In the Netherlands prostitution is not only legal, but regulated as well. WG's working in windows and especially in clubs are selected and under health checks. These girls are professionals and pay taxes, much as in Germany. Most of the girls can speak English, to the level of basic negotiation. Latina's and East European tend to know some words in Dutch, but they might have serious issues with English.

Within a regulated sex industry, you really get what you pay for. Girls who do not make it to the Geleenstraat work in the Doubletstraat, and girls who are not selected for clubs work in the Geleenstraat. Outside of window and clubs you get free-lancers of various nature.

The Hague is a relatively safe city, but do not lower your shields when walking around. If you are found drunk, wondering around in confusional state, you might be targeted by gangs of thugs and be robbed, especially at night. Taxi transportation is by the meter, but rather expensive with an initial fee of 7.50 (if I remember correctly) and it includes a few kilometers ride. Taxi drivers might refuse a lift if you are not going far enough, especially from the stations. Drink & Drive is a very bad idea, you can loose your driving licence and get a stiff fine. Police is actively checking, especially at evening.

If you are in DH and looking for fun, there are plenty of choices, no need to travel to other places like Amsterdam. A good local web site for specific information is www.hookers. Nl (in Dutch I am afraid), but if you know some German should be easily readable.
