I do not recommend Kraków for a sex trip. Kraków is a lovely city, with a lot of monuments to visit and a cultural atmosphere. It is the only old city of Poland which was not destroyed during the second world war, with Lwów (nowadays in Ukraina). But the brothels are more numerous and cheaper in Warszawa.

WW, you know the prices for girls : 100 zl (brothels) / 150 zl (S-Studio) / 150-300 zl (Odloty) / 250-400 zl (Imperium, Villa Rosa).
Per day you could spend as low as 230 zl = 200 zl (girls) + 30 zl (food if you stay in apartment).

I have been 5 times in Warsaw during the past 2 years, always for work (I. E. , mongering was the hobby of the spare time before or after work), and I do not know about Krakow. About Warsaw, my preferred choice are the independent either from odloty. Pl or from sexatlas. Pl. I have never tried brothels (Studio 1-2-3 or others). I find bot odloty and sexatlas excellent sites, provided that one uses some good sense in choosing the girl, and by this I mean: a) never choose a girl with stunning photos. Almost certainly are fakes, be) do not spare to much: most girls are pleased to earn a little bit more, if you say "1 hour only" you will get 1/2 hour of service, probably without a serious committment, 3) the average price for independent is 200 zl/hour. For lower than this you will probably get some delusion, and for higher (e. G. The number you quote looks like a mobile phone number, I would simply dial:

a) From USA: 011-48-516-924-808

b) From Poland: as you wrote in point 2) above.

KB, if telephone number is something like 5NN-NNN-NNN or 6NN-NNN-NNN, then it's a mobile phone. Most of the time, working girls and agencies use a mobile phone. But sometimes a local phone like 6NN-NN-NN or 8NN-NN-NN, so you have to add the city code (22 for Warsaw).

From the US :
1) for a local phone in Warsaw, dial 011-48-22 + number, e.g. 011-48-22-8NN-NN-NN
2) for a mobile phone, dial 011-48 + number, e.g. 011-48-22-5NN-NNN-NNN

From local or public phone in Warsaw :
1) you don't have to dial the city code for another local phone, e.g. 8NN-NN-NN

But don't waste your time calling from the US. Just phone when you will be there. Buy a SIM card (provided your US mobile phone is not simlocked). For less than 40 zl, you can have SIM card + enough credit for a few days. You can also buy a telephone card for public phone (15 zl but credit vanishes quickly with mobile phones).

Can anyone give me an idea of what value SIM card I should buy? I have no idea what rates Polish networks charge.

Appreciate it's difficult to estimate what 'talk time' I'd need since most calls go unanswered but my next trip will be for 3 days so let's estimate having to make 150-200 calls, and having 15 of those answered (yes, optimistic...) and speaking for maybe 30 minutes

As I understand we are talking about pre-paid system.

Depending on operator, calls you made, daytime, etc.

Buy a Orange GO starter with your new number for 20 zlotys or so.

Than you have reload card (refill) for example Orange GO with 150 zloty card and you receive 30 zloty extra. Than you have valid and active number for 6 months.
You can estimate average for one minute talk, which is about 0,6 - 0,8 zloty.
One message (SMS) is worth 0,15 - 0,35 zloty
