It's probably no secret to most that this landmark is no more. I had to find out the hard way, by visiting and seeing for myself.

The signs are all down. Save yourselves the trip down the filthy staircase. They don't appear to have been visited by anyone except perhaps people with no other place to go.

The fact that this was written in both English and Polish reassured me that I wasn't the first foreigner to arrive at this place.

The door was opened by a somewhat overweight middle-aged woman who showed me into the dingy reception room. I caught a glimpse of a younger girl passing by and I was about to sit on one of the seats for what I thought would be a parade.
