I’m in the Scezcin SAS Radisson for a week which gives me the opportunity to make a report away from my usual Dubai forum.

Arrived late Sunday PM completely knackered after the long journey. Don’t use Scezcin airport its 40 KMs from the city with infrequent flights go for the Berlin option as there are regular mini bus services to and from Scezcin.

Monday was spent catching up on sleep. My second report and as promised in my first from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this one is from Eastern Europe.

I had to go Szczecin on a business trip the last week of November from Thursday to Saturday. I stayed at the SAS-RADISSON in the town center. For dinner I somehow strayed into the restaurant in the Orbis hotel and found myself set back about 20 years. A quite fun experience! If you didn’t make it to the east block before 1989, here’s you chance. Take it as an historical experience! If you want high class food and service, stay away!

Most of the clubs in Szczecin and for the most part Poland have plenty of girls from Ukraine and Belarussia. Furthermore the town is cheap on most thinmgs and can serve as a relaxing stop over on the way travelling around Europe. I only visited one place called Harem, on Ul. B. Krzywoustego, I think the number was 49 or so in the backyard. It is down in the basement and is basically a bar with a tiny stage for stripshows that one could order. I saw like five or six girls all 6's or 7's with a single 8. The price was 180 zl pr. hour. I picked a girl from Belarussia who hardly spoke any English. She lead me to a bathroom (very clean) where she told me to take a shower before doing "business". After that BBBJ and various positions. A temporary gig for my employer found me recently spending a week in Szczecin.

Probably the best hotel to stay in town is the Radisson SAS hotel, which can be found on the Radisson website. Rates are in the 100 Euro range for a Western standard hotel. All the desk staff speaks English quite well, and also German, so I heard. Get a room on an upper floor and you may get a nice view of the city. My side found me looking out at the shipyard and port.

The town has a number of restaurants and nightspots, and for those like me who only speak English, there is usually an English-language menu available, with prices quite low by Western European standards. I used my credit card in most of them, but keep in mind that if you don't have plastic you have to pay in Polish zloties, not Euros or Dollars. One good one was Christopher Columbus, which overlooks the river and is right next to the National Museum and the Naval Academy which shares the hill overlooking the port.

Taxis were usually available at a number of marked taxi stands. If you know the address of your destination, the best thing you can do is write it down and give it to the driver. There are meters, and I didn't have any problems with ripoffs during my stay, but I heard a couple of horror stories from people, not sure how much credence I would put in that. If you walk around a bit the hotel can get you a city map which has taxi stands marked on it, which is a useful tool to have.

There is something of a bordello scene in town, with a number of places. Most of them are listed on the www.odloty.pl website, look under the city name. My favorite was Las Vegas, which was located at ulica Kreta 5 (telephone is 48 33 563), right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. (Wonder what the neighbors must think!)

I called ahead and the person answered in English that they had 12 girls on the first night I visited. So I got a taxi out from the Radisson and paid my 25 zloties or so (7-8 dollars). Showed up, and a doorman let me in. Inside is a bar, as well as a couple of rooms that rent by the hour. Truthfully, there were a total of about 12 girls there, though not all at one time. There were also about 12-15 guys, a lot of them visiting Germans and a few Poles, including one Army guy (in uniform!) who announced that he had just come back from Iraq and was desperate to get laid. (What, no brothels in Iraq? The savages!)

Beer was 10 zloties (2.5 dollars), and I had a seat on one of the couches and did my best to talk with some of the girls who were lounged around. Eventually made nice-eyes with a cute girl that I learned was from Ukraine, said she was 23, which I would believe to be accurate. She had the damndest round-shape Slavic face, dark brown eyes, and short brown hair. She screamed "Ukrainian!"

Instead of renting an onsite room, I wanted to go back to my hotel, which she was unsure about doing since she said she was new, having worked there for only three days. The 11th floor bar in the Radisson also has a mixed bag of hotel hookers, who are discreet and won't bother you unless you specifically go up to them and bring them back to your table. I saw five different ones working on different nights, the highest being a solid 7, the lowest a rather vulgarly-dressed 4. I suppose if I was drunk enough, I would have done her, but managed to avoid doing so my four nights there.

I understand from the barman that there are a few other good places in town to visit other than Las Vegas, but in his opinion it was the top place to go to.
