I guess this bit of newbie question. I'm wondering if the senior members on the board here have any tips on how to converse with the ladies in a manner that is both respectful and direct. Are there any unwritten guidelines on how to flirt with the ladies, what to expect when communicating with the ladies, what are some tactics that work and some that don't to increase the probability of having a good time?

I ask because — I'm having multiple conversations with a set of ladies but it's super hard to gauge interest or even build on the conversation. At the same time, I read posts about how some members seem to be getting a lot of traction with the ladies even before they get here.

Although every corner of the internet is infested with internet fuckwad theory, the local board has a large minority of *sshats for regulars. They are cheap, spiteful, and don't want foreigners either on their board or bedding "their" escorts. The attitude towards EP is an example. I understand that if you live in Portugal, getting a hotel room just to have an hour with an escort is an added expense. I lived there myself, and some years ago 150/ he was 50% higher than the going incall rate to boot. But some guys deal with it, some guys bypass it, and some bitterly resent it. Like the girls aren't allowed to choose how they want to do something and owe these punters something.

The reaction to Carolina Belmont/Helena de Melo is a good example. She went independent and knows her value. She charges +20 over EP. Plenty of Portuguese guys seem perfectly happy with that, but there is that cluster of jerks who were already bitching about EP and clutter up the board groaning about it. That is a problem with review boards. They can't see that BeenBob is a respected senior member here with experience in Brazil and Portugal. And they probably won't accept a comment noting that, even though it would be beneficial for the readers there.

EP has an upper echelon of ladies with many good reviews, a group of ladies such as Debora and Marcela Moniz with an outstanding review or two that we all hope will continue, a large number of ladies such as Sara Valente who some guys (including me) love and others don't, a ton of unreviewed ladies, and as ExExpatriate noted some consistent under-performers and recent burnouts. The only thing I question on that part of his list is Catarina Rodriguez. She got a lukewarm 6 and a 7 out of 10 on the local board, but good reviews and mentions on other review boards, so I would put her on the YMMV list instead of the Don't See / Possible Burnout list.

In general, the guys on the local board don't like EP. And EP knows that and doesn't live or die based on reviews there. They don't like that EP doesn't offer incalls, without cutting them any slack on the point that if an agency in Portugal offers incall, it starts getting perilously close to possibly violating the laws against pimping, pandering and operating a brothel. Those laws are less of a concern when two or three ladies share a trick pad. Do the same for twenty or thirty ladies who advertise with prices and services on a common website, and who knows what might happen. They are much safer legally being a consortium of independents who each have their own phone number and who only do outcall, with the agency serving as a mechanism to share advertising costs and providing scheduling assistance.

The other related issue is of course price. In addition to needing to a local needing to get a room if he doesn't feel comfortable having her come to his house, the local is paying 20 to 30 euros more per hour than a typical incall independent. I hear you about incall vs. Outcall. EP is reasonably priced right now, and if you already have the hotel room, it makes sense to take advantage of it. Whether I go incall or outcall depends on a handful of variables.
