For big rooms in a hotel by the sea (actually the river), I really like the Myriad by Sana. It does require elevator key cards, but the lobby is big and nobody gives a shit who you bring up as a guest as long as you have your elevator key card. The myriad by Sana hotel is not really in the party district, but is more in the traditional on the river touristy area. The party area is Bairro Alto, and Bairro Alto Hotel is always ranked as the best hotel in that neighborhood. Unfortunately it is closed for renovations, but you can use it as a landmark to sort hotels and Airbnb's around it. The difficulty is that the hotels in that neighborhood are local hotels often in small boutique buildings, such as the LX Boutique Hotel. These often have a reception desk as soon as you enter from the street, and there aren't a lot of reports as to whether there is ever a hassle of bringing guests up.

Most of the guys on ISG tend to stay at the western brand hotels such as Holiday Inn, Sheraton, Clarion, Marriott, Intercontinental, etc. That are congregated together along a main thoroughfare. These big hotels are certainly guest-friendly but are not in the party zones. Fortunately you are talking about a 10 euro or less taxi fare to get to Bairro Alto and the cool areas with bars from these western brand hotels.
