I spoke to a few girls, and they definitely were 'digging' for something. Some were actually pretty unfriendly to start with. And if I want to bother with hardcore pick up game I wouldn't be in Bucharest to start with.

Here's another observation from last night. Occasionally you see a guy walk over to talk to a girl for a minute or something and they walk away with nothing. I guess that's normal anywhere but the girls definitely don't seem to be too friendly. At least in this venue. The only guys getting 'action' there are ones with tables and bottles of champagne, then you get maybe 2 guys surrounded by 3 or 4 girls. The girls were definitely looking for 'something'. I don't think they were 'pros' in the traditional sense but I am pretty sure most were gold diggers looking to see who can score something longer term, whether it be sponsorship or just a guy to look after them. I am a young guy and have money but IMO to splash cash there would be a waste of your time and money. I can afford to do the table thing but frankly it doesn't interest me to just get a girl to like me for my money or wealth. Cracking the game: From what I've seen and from people I know, the top girls in the East these days always know what they are worth. So if they think you are just out for a quickie and you are not their dream guy, if they are open enough to give you something anyway, you have to let them name the conditions. BUT if you are not the smooth good looking guy and you go somewhere where the girls don't meet the foreigners everyday who want to jump on them then you have a better chance. Then the question is just where to find them. Every city I've been to in Eastern Europe has some clubs and bars that every tourist goes to when they want to see beautiful girls. You will feel comfortable in those places because people will be used to foreigners and speak english but it is not easy to pick up girls because they know where they are going, they know they will get hit on all the time in there and they know guys there will pay drinks, bottles, etc. So if that's not you, forget it.

Best idea is to chat with girls on dating sites like the ones listed on this forum (even average girls) ask them where you can go etc. When you go in a restaurant that has a beautiful trendy waitress, give her a big tip then ask her where to go at night. The hot one who says, "what kind of places are you looking for" is the one you should listen too. I've wanted to come here for a while now ever since a couple of FKK experiences I've had with Romanian women that were excellent. This not include my sister.

I must however say so far I've been disappointed in general, and probably don't plan to return. Here's a quick rundown of observations over the past couple of days:

1. The smaller cities are better than Bucharest. Before we came here we went to some of the smaller cities like Timisoara where the locals are AMAZINGLY friendly. Bucharest in stark contrast, people stare alot more, and don't seem as friendly nor social. I suppose it may just be the nature of a big city. Shame that Timisoara is now deserted because all the students have left.

2. The male / female ratio in this town is messed up. There's waaay more guys than girls around. While we have not had any physical danger so far we definitely feel more alarmed also walking around here.

3. Cabbies try to rip you off. We had 2 cabbies try to rip us off. Granted over 10-20 leis, but it's definitely more common for taxi drivers here compared to the smaller cities to try to rip us off. Just make sure to stick to the yellow taxies and check the meter, and also have small change. They also seem to expect that you tip them, unlike other places. I prefer to tip at my own discretion.

4. Finding pros here is easy but arranging logistics not so much. There is alot alot of options from bars and clubs to the classifieds. I hired a local translator to help me make calls, as suggested below. This however has 2 flaws: 1. by the time the info is passed back to you the girl may have vanished or not working. This happened to be the case today when I went to an apartment near Unirii and the girl wasn't there. 2. the translator often won't get access to full details of the girls so while can do some basic screening won't get to the full address.

5. My personal suggestion is to make calls yourself. One thing to note is if a girl speaks great english she is likely an operator and you will go to an apartment where the actual girls working aren't. Follow general guidelines mentioned before on making calls. I turned up to 2 apartments where the girls did not look ANYTHING like the photos even though I was promised they would, and I screen pretty well. So just buyer beware.

6. You can get girls from around 150 lei for full sex if you go through classifieds sites (oral covered + normal sex). However if you go through clubs and such expect to spend up to 200-250 euros because they will rip you off through drinks etc.

7. Picking up freebies is certainly posible but the quality of girls are subpar to other EE locations I've been to. Honestly we have not met alot of super hot girls here, we saw maybe 3-4 hot girls all night in the old city. Maybe we're just very picky. The old city is not a great place for freebies either because everyone is seated. We will explore some of the bigger clubs/bars. We also went to the roof deck at the National Theatre because of the younger crowd but it was also hard to meet people because everyone was seated again.

Anyway that's just some basic info so far. We have the weekend to figure out the rest and I will be happy to share contact and other info after that.

Overall I think it didn't meet my expectations, the girls are not as hot as I expected, the city is ok for a few days but I will prob not return, and the pros tbh are a bit expensive if you want to be choosy. It's ok to pass through and I'm already looking forward to leaving right now. Who knows though, maybe the weekend will change my mind.

If any tips on where to go out for freebies and just generally to have a good time or club/bars to recommend for tomorrow night and Sunday, please let me know either post here or via PM. I will skip Bamboo but heard some other clubs like Player and Gaia to be ok from locals.

I went to Bucharest last week and it was a great surprise. Nice fun people, smiling and happy. Not like some Eastern Europe cities. If you are looking for only blonde with a slavic face, you won't like Romania. But if you like more latin style like Spanish or Italian, then Romania is heaven.

In the clubs, cafes and bars it is not so difficult to meet girls if you stay out of the very extravagant clubs like Bamboo. Bamboo is not as exclusive as people here make it sound. The girls are nice and you will see as good or better than you see in London, New York, Paris but probably more than 50% of the men would never get past the gate in a top club in a western city. So inside the club is full of new rich and 30-50yo Western tourists and business men who think Romanian girls will get a woody just to see their business card. You'll pay 2-3 times more for drinks and maybe if you have good pick up skills in normal cities in the West, you will do better in Bucharest. But if you never try to pick up a girl in a club at home and think you will do it in the top club in Romania, better think again!

For P4P it's not hard to find either. There are young guys walking on the streets in the beginning of the evening stopping anybody who looks like a foreigner and asking "do you want girls" and promising to bring two or three in a car if you wait a few minutes. If you said no they give you a business card and say call me if you want one later. I didn't call so I didn't get any prices. These guys are centered on the street where the hotel intercontinental is and you can see them just across the street from the hotel and they will find you between there and the Old Town if you are a well dressed foreigner walking alone or with another guy.

There are also places that are a striptease bar where you need to pay a fixed price to go in and then either you get one drink free or all drinks free. There was one almost across the street from the McDonald's on Blvd Mihail Kogalniceanu where it was one price of 120RON (about 30€) for entry and then all you can drink. Buying girls drinks was something like 6€ and then she would sit with you and talk. But while she was sitting there if she was really interested in getting you to go upstairs she would do just about anything, like show her tits, rub your dick, sit in your lap bare breasted (so maybe that is the sleazy dishonest side? do anything to get you upstairs and in the sack? ok with me!). Once you go upstairs you paid some "massage" price then negotiated the rest with the girl, but the girl i talked to offered the full thing for 300RON. So she was a nice blonde with skinny hard body and big tits so I got her number called her and 45min later she was in my hotel for 400RON. And she was a real horny ***** asking to do all positions. Maybe that's expensive but at least i knew what i was getting since she had already done almost everything in the bar.

Then just across the street from the hotel novotel there was another much more high class strip bar called Stars (not sure about the name). In that one it was about 150RON to go in (35eur) and that included one drink. Drinks for girls were about 100RON. And in Stars they drank the drink pretty fast. In that place the girls were top quality but they really only wanted you to buy a bottle of champagne. Then they would sit with you all night. I think the pay to go with you price was around 200EUR but that could depend on the girl.

Make sure you go in these places with cash. I purposely went out with only about 400RON so I wouldn't get suckered or robbed and I used up all my cash in stars. Then when i found the place across from McDonald's I asked them if they took visa and they said yes. But when it was time to go my card didn't work in their machine. So I had to go out to an ATM to get money. That didn't work either so then a big guy appeared and decided to accompany me to another ATM which luckily worked!!

For the hotels it wasn't too hard to get the girl past the front desk. In the intercontinental it is so big they don't notice (unless of course you get a real skank, then you could have problems). In a smaller hotel where i also stayed, they wanted the girl from the strip bar to pay something to come up, but she said she had not money and would pay when she came down but some how she got out for free she told me later.
