I'm coming to bucharest at the end of november , need some help on choosing what location to stay, don't want to pay a fortune but want somewhere its safe to walk back from town after a few beers

Anyone know the best places to rent an apt or get cheap hotel?

Seems to be lots of action in buc but prices seem to be at least 100 euro an hour which is very different than romanian prices, anyone know what the way to some company for a decent price!

Hotel Ramada Majestic:

I stood there at the beginning of October. Hotel is ok and girl friendly. I had a girl at my room, front desk staff handled all easy, also breakfast for 2 wasn't any problem.
You can also ask the staff for some hints. Tip (Euro or Ron) appreciated.

Just came back from a trip to Bucharest and would like to share some information about the SW scene.

I was in Bucharest on a Wedensday and Thursday (end of September)

- Rosetti street (off Magheru Blvd)

Arrived a few days ago early afternoon in Bucarest for a one night stay. I stood at the Ramada Majestic hotel. It's ok and girlfriendly, but not a highlight. Since I didn't want this time to hunt on the streets I asked one of the hotel staff where I can find some company for dinner and for some night action. He told me that the hotel can help me because they have some professional escorts. Prices starting at 500 Euro a day and NO SEX. I can only laugh when I read this. I just came back from Bucuresti and I have been out in several club. In fact, in romania, like anywherethere, is different kind of girls. A certain percentage of girls that come from good families, they study and already have international experiences. They will probably not want to be seen with a foreigner, because others will look at them like ****s. Especially they don't want to be seen as girls from "third world country". So you can forget about them. Then you have quite a number of very very hot chicks that you might see in the various clubs like Bamboo, Fratellis and others. The more beautiful the girls are and the less they wear, the bigger is the car of their boyfriend. Usually the boyfriends are young guys in the twenties with a Maserati, Ferrari or Porsche. These girls will not even look at you. Then there are girls that know how to play with "older" western guys and they will cock tease you in internet chat rooms and make you send money, but when you fly to romania to meet them, they will never show up.

There also is a category of girls that will throw themselves at your neck, but these are hookers, often with Gipsy background.

It might be a little different in smaller towns. But I think you should not expect much more than what you could expect traveling in any other city, such as Milano or Paris. Here you also will never have a chance with girls just due to the fact that you are westerner. Probably, your assumption dates more than 20 years back. I would still recommend to go to one of the many clubs in romania. But you should try to go with some local people that are able to introduce you to others.

I visited Bucharest last Autumn 2006 for a few days with a Russian friend of mine that used to live there so he knows the place like the back of his hand and speak fluent Romanian. I am not really a monger and always try for freebies. Anyway during my short time in Bucharest this is what I felt personally about the local girls there:

Girls are very beautiful, young, polite, open-minded, some speak good English. They can also be unpredictable; tell you one thing then then say another. As a foreigner it can be difficult to score with the girls unless you either live there, speak good Romanian, or know someone related to them in one way or another.

Many girls realise that some tourists are there for sex only so they can be suspicious of you. If you say you are there on business or plan to move there you will have more success.

As with alot of upcoming Eastern Eurorpean countries money talks in Romania. There are alot of rich Romanians, mainly due to the real estate boom. You often see people in Ferraris, Mercedes etc. The days of going to such countries where just by being a foreigner you will attract girls are long gone unfortunately. Such countries have new found wealth so the girls prefer local guys.

Discos: It seemed the girls there were more interested in dancing by themselves and to just be seen in a trendy club.

Bars: Better than clubs IMO but not much.

Parks, subway, cafes etc: Best places I think to meet girls.

Fortunately for me my friend introduced me to some of his friends who introduced me to their friends and so on, so I got to meet a few nice girls. During the few days I was there I scored with one girl.

Again this short post is in my opinion and what I saw & experienced whilst I was there.

- Picking up a hottie for a one night stand is unlikely but possible , however you should consider at least 100-200 euro for the girl , as it won't be for free.

- Yes , they are definitely more accessible , more open minded and more fun.

- If you take the girl from a club , 200 euros for the night should be enough , otherwise you should check the prices on the websites for the high end escorts ( approx 350 euros) .

I agree, you are right and the discussion is getting nowhere.

With regard to your question. My experience is: it depends on the point of view. In western countries it all depends upon looks and age is also important. You will - to my experience - not get a super hot girl in germany for a one night stand if you do not look super hot yourself (guess what is my experience ;-) *lol). In opposite, if you look super hot yourself you can have a different girl each night. These guys will have more success in westerner countries than in Romania.

However, in Romania it appears that the looks and the age different are not that crucial. You might have a chance, where you have sero chance in western countries. However, in big cities the super hot girls are engaged with good looking millionaires in their early twenties (driving a maserati). I doubt they will get engaged with a westerner for a one night stand. You might want to try the girls that are good looking but not dressed up in gucci.

It will be crucial to make contacts through sentimente.ro, noi2.ro or 4vip.ro in advance. This is very cumbersome you should know. From the responses on these webpages to your messages you can probably estimate your chances in Ro.
