I guess it sounds like everyone enjoyed my mall experience I'm happy to share it.

Johan: Yeah you told me Poland wasn't as good as Romania, but you know i'm exploring the world for the first times, I need to see these things myself I'll be going back to Romania in late March into early April. It will be about a 10 day trip. I will be flying into Bucharest, and meeting a girl from Bacau. I will spend 1 or 2 days in Bucharest with her, and then head off to Bacau with her. I know there is very little information on this board about Bacau and that whole Moldavian region of RO, but I am telling you guys I am hearing some great stories from friends who have visited there telling me stories about the beauty of the women in this area (Bacau specifically). I'll be spending 4 or 5 days in Bacau with her, then will need to find a ride to Brasov to see the girl I met over ICQ. Another 2-3 days in Brasov, then back to Bucharest to go back home. I am hoping this will be a great trip. Again i'll be staying at the Mariott for my 2 days in Bucharest, but when in Brasov and Bacau i'll be staying with the girls in their apartments. I'm sure it will be a big difference from the Mariott

ianjohn: I stayed at the Sheraton in Warsaw, and I had booked a room for 2 ahead of time, yet when bringing the ICQ girls back to my room I got hassled by the security guards, who expected me to pay them to let them in my room. These weren't even pro's, they were girls I went to meet up with from ICQ. So I had a major hassle there (a long story). Also, I had read on the Poland forum here that taxi drivers are everywhere in Poland (TRUE) and they are relatively honest because they appreciate the fairs (FALSE). The ONLY taxi's that didn't ATTEMPT to screw me over were the hotels taxis from the Sheraton (nice new Mercedes too ) The one guy had the nerve to try and charge me 400zloty for a ride from the airport to Sheraton. I laughed at him and gave him 90zl (I knew the Sheraton taxi's charged 50zl but I didn't care). I guess the words "AMERICAN WITH MONEY" are written on my head. I don't stand for that though, I am guessing it will get me in trouble someday from a taxi driver with a gun, I just threw the 90zl in his face, took my bag and shut the door and left. I was really pissed off. The whole trip was "sour" for me, it was like everywhere I looked people tried to rip me off. I EXPECTED this to happen in RO and it DIDN'T happen, and I DIDN'T EXPECT it to happen in Poland and people tried to rip me off.

doctor_skank: I am 100% convinced me speaking English got that girl to approach me. I am hoping to find some guys to travel with my next time there so I can speak English more seeing how it had good effects

RoPickle: I replied to your questions about the "mall pull" earlier if you didn't get a chance to read them. I hope it answers your questions.

If any of you guys are interested in maybe travelling a bit with a young American through RO in late March early April 2003, let me know. Or if you have any other questions you wanna ask me about my trip.

I'll be interested to see the price differences between Bacau/Brasov compared to Bucharest. I'll also be looking to see if I can tell the difference between girls who are from the Moldovian region of RO and those in the Brasov/Bucharest area's. I'm told the Moldovian region is the nicest girls as far as personality in RO, the food is the best, and the women are the most beautiful. Anyone have any opinions on this???

Sorry to hear about your not so good experinces in Poland
But.....I told you so!! Remember??;-)

Poland can be fun but it;s merely a pro scene and therefor it will cost you $$/€€.

My suggestion (for Europe) for non-pro action would be:
Moldova,Romania, Ukraine (outside Kiev offcourse) and maybe Bulgaria.
All the rest is Too expensive,TOO boring,too dangerous or just NOT at present.(regarding non-pro action)

I'm really sad to hear you had a shit time in Warsaw - i'm upset becasue I know that you could have had great fun. In some excellent places etc......

As for the internet in Poland - its not like in Ro - in Poland its just the "intellectuals" that have one - usually at work - and the girls quite honestly don't play at it much. - or so it seems. So alternatavie methods are called for ....

Hi Masta,

Your story is interesting to me, like it is to a lot of us I suppose, who are in similar situations whether in Ro, Russia or anywhere else in the eastern bloc. I think if you can just speak English and get somebody to hear it, you will get attention, a lot of it positive. So travelling in pairs would be the best by far I think. Makes going to clubs a lot more pleasant too... can speak English with your bud without having to walk around asking strangers if they speak English, something I'll never become fond of.

And I also agree the eastern european girls in general go for really nicely dressed guys... anything that sets you apart... and they like to be SEEN with nicely dressed guys... good for their image.

Sorry for not responding quicker, I just got back from my trip to Warsaw last night. Dreadful place in my opinion, I should have just went back to Romania again. The Polish girls I did the ICQ thing with and met were just "different" than the girl I met over ICQ from Romania. They seemed alot "colder". It is definitely cheaper to visit Romania too as far as food and fun is concerned.

I don't think I will ever get used to walking about cities and seeing military men and police armed with machine guns. I guess I sound like a stupid American saying this It's just different here.

I am really happy about my success using ICQ and yahoo messager to find these girls and get to know them better. It makes things so much quicker, and more convenient to know girls and just set up meetings with them rather than hunt for girls. I recommend everyone give this a try, especially here in the Romanian forum, it seems like EVERYONE in Romania has at least an email address. From Bucharest to the rural places like Bacau and that whole moldovian region. These girls would rather spend their money to go to the cyber cafe than eat I think! I'm going to spend some money on some teach-you-romanian tapes so I can be better prepared for my next visit.

As far as the Bucharest Mall is concerned, here is what happened there. I was there at about 18:00, and the place was CROWDED. I was dressed to kill, I had some really nice clothes on, I was planning on going to a club that night. I think I stick out in the crowd, I am told I look like a typical westerner, and certainly sound like one. I spotted this girl and she was with 2 friends standing in the food court area, and we made eye contact. She smiled and of course I smiled back. I'm sure that would have been the end of it if it wasn't for the guy (god bless him) who walked into the back of my chair and I stood up and said excuse me and he apologized and really seemed upset for hitting me, and I said don't worry about it, no problem. Of course I realized after I spoke that I probably had 30 sets of eyes on me after everyone heard me speaking english like the American that I am. I felt embarassed and sat back down to eat, but afterwards the girl was staring at me non-stop. I looked back and smiled and she said something to her friends and they all started laughing, and kind of pushed her in my direction. She came over and asked if she could sit down and of course I said yes.

I would like to thank the guy who bumped into me, which got me to speak english out loud, which made everyone realize if they hadnt already that I was American, and I think this caused the girl to approach me. I bet she wasn't even a pro, she was way to shy.

As far as my looks are concerned, I am 202cm tall, dark hair, green eyes, a real big guy, and 22 years old. I'm certainly nothing special as far as my looks are concerned. It must have been my english, my nice clothes, my constant smiling at this girl, and the eye contact that got her to approach me. I bet it was dumb-luck. I'm certainly not an experienced punter by any means. I'm new to this and learning from you guys stories :P
