I have always agreed with your "optics" of Slavic women. I know two men, Black men in fact that have married Russian women. Not nearly as simple as the 5 year 'business' visa that my travel agent in Kiev got for me back in 2002, so that I wouldn't have to apply for new single entry tourist visas every time I wanted to return to Ukraine (back when visas there were required).

Should there be ANY reason for concern to provide info on items I listed?

No. Not at all. It will go no further than the Russian consulate where you apply.

I had the option to go to Yuzhno-Sakhalin, but opted not to go. Being in the Pacific, it is extremely far away (from the Atlantic) and small. That is often not a bad thing, as the best action in Russia is in remote, impoverished provinces. But in the case of Yuzhno-Sakhalin my impression is that it has been overrun by oil companies, oil money and oilmen and would not be a good destination. If you search the forum or the internet you may find that there are some options there, but not a lot to choose from. As of now I know the rate is about 10 zl= 98 rub. Can you tell me about a bank or a kantor in Moscow, possibly not too far from where the boats are, that gives a good exchange rate? I mean, if it's 98 and they give me 90 obviously it will not be good, but if it works the same with a change euro-ruble than it still would be a better option than going through 2 conversions. In a couple of days I'm going back home and I need to find out quickly. Unfortunately the cruise company seems uncapable to handle this request.

I believe that the place the river cruise boats dock is "Richnoi Voksal". From the boat dock, it is only a short walk through the park to the Richnoi Voksal Metro stop AND a shopping mall. There are several exchanges both inside and outside the mall. There's also a Torro Grill in side the mall where you can get a VERY decent steak! By the way, Richnoi Voksal is the end of the Green Metro Line which will get you to the center of Moscow for 26 rubles. As for the exchange question itself, I ALWAYS advise visitors to bring an ATM card. As long as your bank is on the INTERAC or PLUS system, you can easily get cash at the Bankomat for what I consider to be the most effective and hassle free rate.
