We are considering Ekaterinburg, but after having met a few girls in NY from that city we are considering other options. Or possibly a town near the border with Belarus; or Krasnodar or a town on Volgda (heard girls are real pretty around Volgda region)

i can understand this kind of fear from a western man. in the west, if a woman cries,"[CodeWord123]", it is the man who is immediately suspect and needs to prove his innocence.

in russia, on the other hand, it is the woman who will be suspect, particularly if you picked her up at some place like hot dog's or a strip club. and, as gt points out, unless the girl is in league with the police and there are payoffs involved, this type of scam simply won't work.

doesn't mean there aren't other ways to separate you from your money, but this one in particular is not something to worry about. at least not in russia.

i know that this question may seem paranoid. but from a golddigger point of view this just seems to me to be a very effective method to squeeze the victom. even if you would be sure to win the case you probably would pay to avoid the days or weeks of custody in a russian prison. especially beeing a foreigner.

but i have not heard of that happening recently (last several years) in any credible report on isg.

you are probably more likely to be robbed or scammed in another way, although robbery seems uncommon also.

your can minimize your risks by mongering in established venues, like strips clubs, pick up bars, salons, well-known escort services.

these people are all in the business of providing sex (of widely varying quality) for money. blackmailing or robbing customers is bad for business.

the girls are all well-known and know each other and if anyone is creating problems like that it will get around and she will not be welcome in those venues.

it is easier and more sustainable to milk westerners for their money in semi-legitimate ways than to outright steal from them.

and think about it from the girl's point of view. any blackmail scheme is going to involve payoffs to police, pimps and lawyers.

shaking you down for a few thousand $ isn't going to generate much more for her than turning a few legitimate tricks.

that said, you always have to be wary of shakedowns and have a plan for what to do if you end up in the back of a police cruiser or jail cell.

but there are a number of risks that we run mongering (mostly getting bad service or overpaying) and if you are risk averse you better take up something simple and controllable like skydiving.

It's not really about "glory". I kind of look at it as a chess game.

Sometimes I wonder if I don't prefer the thrill of going through "the game" (and the conquest) to the foregone conclusion. Well, only sometimes. (wink)

I'd also lower the age demographic to 25 (and up to 35). There's literally dozens thousands single moms highly available in this age group in FSU, and many still look absolutely amazing.

Many are working mentally exhausting jobs and need some adventure, emotions and sex. Those with financial means (usually from Moscow, Piter, or "rich" Ural cities) often travel a lot, notally to "cultural" destinations. With those women, bankroll is not important and the basic romantic dating approach is enough, but at this age they expect a man to be successful, well-appointed and intelligent, anything less isn't a man worth fucking.

Which is great with this target group is that even if they usually don't "butterfly around" and are very constant in their feelings (some of them I know since years and I'm still in contact) , as I said below, many of them don't expect a relationship to become too serious, but just to enjoy the ride.
