I've seen your postings around - thanks for the information, you seem to have some knowledge of the Russian cities. I am looking to travel for two months in Russia next summer. I have some ideas about settling in a city for a few weeks, renting an apartment, experience the local action, then moving on to do the same in another city. For various reasons I've got Novosibirsk, Omsk, Ekaterinburg and Ufa in mind. I know you previously mentioned that Novosibirsk is the Bangkok of Russia ( I hope to be intermediate conversational by next summer - using Pimsleur). Can you elaborate on any knowledge or opinions you have of this city and the others? What about the safety in these cities? I always think safety is a lot of common sense, but then one reads the latest report on Voronezh and begins to wonder.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

my god there are some beautiful ladies here! anyway, from what I have worked out, there are phone numbers you call and the girls are delivered to your hotel. what hotels in irkutsk and novo... are girl friendly in this regard and how much should I expecct to pay? do you know of any good phone numbers?

also are there any sort of brothels which one go visit - which may be easier than asking for a young blonde lady who speaks english on the telephone! thanks for you help

Both cities are very cheap, but if you don't speak Russian and your visa is not in order, well, it will certainly be memorable.

can you give me some specifics on where to go in irkustck and novosibirsk (and tomsk) how much i should be paying etc please? does it matter if I dont speak much russian?

Novosibirsk is the Bangkok of Russia. If you can speak Russian, you'll be OK.
