Follow up on that, we bumped into them at Hotdogs I grabbed their new numbers and since they remembered me, wrote 15k on the card, I rang the number to confirm, Olga and Lena are still using the number, but not during weekends (my Russian is bad though, maybe they meant only on weekends).

This is almost laughable. How you could get all this (useless) information, and not have a simple STREET ADDRESS is beyond me. I was transliterating from Cyrillic to Latin characters (with no prior Russian study) on my first trip to Moscow. It looks intimidating at first, but it's not that hard. Really.

I will not post on this topic any more. I've offered you the best advice I could, and that was to hire a private investigator before setting foot in Russia. You are less than useless here, and as many have already pointed out, there's a really good chance of you getting injured or worse should you go about this on your own.

Hi, Guys.

These pictures I made yesterday at 9 o'clock in the morning. I left for Red Square at 6, because it was so hot that I thought if I go out later I'll fry. Metro was full of people with suitcases, who rushed in the direction of Komsomolskaya where we have trains. Sunday morning. Noone sleeps. Airports didn't work properly because of bad visibility, but trains still run. At 6 the fog was grey, by 9 became yellow. Some people had masks, but few. I only saw 1 grandmother, but she ran so quickly that I couldn't capture.

Today fog disappeared. They promise by Wednesday cold weather +11C or so. But it's hard to believe. But we hope and don't mind some rain or snow.

Might I suggest that you have a look at Pizdyets' most excellent piece from a couple months back on his evening (rather late night early morning) Tochka adventure.

As the nature of the Tochka is that it is not permanently based anywhere, rather it floats in certain back ally Moscow neighborhoods, the report can not tell you exactly where to go. They float. And yes, find a taxi driver, and negotiate the price in advance (say 1000R to get there, try at least 3 tochki and return to your hotel).
