It occurred to me when writing that last post that just about no one outside of Russia has a clue what the schedule for the May holidays is for this year. Since May 1st (May Day) is on a Tuesday, Mr. Putin has decided that we will all work Saturday April 28th so that we have a three day weekend (Sun-Mon-Tues). And next week, because May 9th (Victory Day) is on a Wednesday this year, we are going to work Wednesday May 2, Thursday May 3, Friday May 4 and Saturday May 5 so that we will have a FOUR day weekend on Sun May 6, Monday May 7th, Tuesday May 8th and Wednesday May 9th. Of course, we still have to work the following Saturday as well (May 12th). Are you confused yet? Only in Russia.
