With all due respect Stravinsky, I shared my perspective from a complete newbie in Moscow as opposed to members with a comfort level. In that town, its not so easy for outsiders to access all the possibilities.

Moscow is actually a mongering paradise. IF you can speak and read Russian. The options for meeting women for sex are virtually unlimited, the prices are low (if not downright free) , and that is for some of the most beautiful women you will find anywhere in the world.

But you got to know the territory.

This is why we only hear from the clueless guys who have no idea what they are doing. We seldom hear from the guys who live there because they're too busy juggling all the babes.

Quite right. You will not find ANYTHING that compares with an FKK in Moscow. So many guys come here thinking that there might be a similar type of club here. Sorry dudes. It does not exist in Moscow. The guy at Pacha faced me and hurt my feelings. Just kidding I have a thick skin. I had no problems at strip clubs which I did enjoy. Forget visiting apartments and salons without some fluency in the language. Hotel girls are an easy option but I never found one that I found attractive. Nightflight is too expensive.

Basically I'd agree that this is not the optimal place for mongering. I've been at it in Asia for a long time and this cannot compare. I'm not into strip clubs, and sure as fuck not for several hundreds of bucks. However, as I'm here for a couple weeks on business, why not take a shot at some ladies? After all those long legs in short skirts walk by, your little brain forces you to try to shag one. I have one small bit of advice, and that's learn the cyrillic alphabet at least reasonably well before you come. Then you can use some copy and paste functionality with Google Translate and that can get you at least some introductions via manga (I have no association with that site, just been using it). When you get here, go to MTC and buy a prepaid SIM card. It includes 3G which is a huge benefit. I have an unlocked iPhone from Hong Kong for this purpose.

So from all my work to date, I've at least managed to get laid with one girl. She's a non-pro from out of town because her place somewhere is flooded out. Strangest night of my mongering career. With a decided lack of prudence, I embarked on the trip to her place, which was about 45 minutes away. Not to sound naive, as there are certainly thugs around, but I don't find Moscow as inherently evil as some make it sound. I've gotten into several private cars when taxis are not available, and have found folks to be very nice on the whole. And having the address in Russian in the iPhone's Notes app makes that easy to show the driver so you don't need to explain how to get there. They know or have a GPS to find it.

Just a bit of my experience here in the capital for a week.

Russia is a tough country that made me feel isolated from the rest of the world. I had no friends there and the fear of loosing my passport weighed down on me. The city is a megopolis and traveling at night can be difficult because most cab drivers don't speak English. Face control at nightclubs is a real concern. I've been to Aurora some week ago. The Loft has just opened when I was there but didn't have time to check it out, it's the same owner as Aurora and the girls might rotate between the clubs. Nice strip clubs, you need to pay for room+girl. Girls are friendly and nice, but costly. If you are charming, lucky and have money you might get her no. And meet her later.

Other cheaper options are salons and escorts.

I'll back in Moscow in some weeks I'll checkout the Loft.

Answers to above questions.

1. No, I don't believe so. Not in those places if you are dressed appropriately.

2. The going rate in Aurora 911 was $300 BEFORE Penthouse and Loft opened and that included the use of the "back room". Once PH and Loft opened things changed because technically as both PH and Loft now operate as hotels. In my mind, Aurora is still a bit of a mystery but I am sure they have an arrangement that includes a secret passage to a nearby hotel. This was done to solve the problem of these clubs getting raided by police. If you want to have onsite sex with a girl, you arrange to take her to a room in the hotel that is "next door". Therefore, the room rate is fixed and the girls rate is somewhat negotiable so things are not quite so clear as they once were with respect to prices. But to answer you question directly, yes. If you want on-site service you are looking at 12, 000 Rubles for the first hour.

3. These three are the most Western in terms of management. The girls are well behaved and security is excellent. And of course the quality is as good if not better than anything you will find anywhere else on this green earth. The fourth club in the group is Korston 911 which is located inside the Korston Hotel (see the pattern?). Don't forget to check out that one if you are looking for better prices and slightly more "low key" atmosphere. It's a bit out of the way but it's only a $15 cab ride from the center (15 Kosygin Street) so it's easily reachable. I know several local guys who prefer it to the other three.

4. 9,000 rubles? Most definitely, but here it gets a little less predictable and the quality is a little more hit and miss. Send me a PM and we can get into the details but if you are a first timer then I would stick with the "tier 1" places until your Russian is at the level where you can handle yourself in a heated discussion. But that's your call. Personally, I would say it's worth the extra $100 for peace of mind.
