In my experience a foreign phone number works just fine, that is if you digit the country code properly of course.

Hi. In the past, I was able to cut-and-paste the Russian cyrillic text in the messages I received. But at some point in time, that changed and I'm not able to do it anymore. Maybe this has been discussed, but I'd like to bump. For someone who needs the help of a translation site to communicate on Mamba, what is the strategy to get around this problem of not being able to cut-and-paste? Help!

You can still do that actually, but it seems to me you can only do it when the conversation window is active; for instance, right then when you receive the message it's no problem to select the cirillic and copy-paste it in the translation thingy, but, if you close the window and later on want to get back there wondering WTF was she talking about then you can't copy the text anymore.

Bottomline, you either do it straight away right then and there or never will. Such is life.

The website that I have had great luck with is (Mods delete if I break board rules, thanks) : Badoo. It is a free site to join and free to communicate.

I have had great results chatting with girls on this site and then getting to know them better on skype. I am compiling a nice list of non-pros if I can make it to Moscow this summer.

IMHO. The Sheraton has a nice selection of girls in the lobby and management seem to be pretty switched on. Also, the Hilton Leningradskaya has girls in the lobby bar but so far I have not seen any that really get me excited. If money is not object, then by all means go for the Ritz Carleton. The girls in the RoofTop bar are absolutely stunning but a little too rich for my blood. Down market there is the Cordston Hotel which, of course has it's own strip club attached.

Not to be controversial, but you can a "real" status on mamba with a foreign number (at least with a european one).

Also to get VIP, or raise up your profile in the search lists, you just need to use your PayPal account. VIP for one month costs 3 virtual coins (about us$3) , and raising up profile only 1. Sending compliments (1 to 4 virtual coins each) could seem corny, stupid or useless, but it's IMO sometimes a good ice-breaker if the girl isn't flooded by compliments already, or a nice attention (therefore a position-booster) towards a girl you mesh well with.

That said, mamba is definitely not that great in term of answers ratio when your target is the "genuine" freebie (don't know about sponsorettes or pros). Too many sex-hungry foreigners spam it. Paying sites have a much better answers ratio. Nonetheless most of those sex-hungry foreigners are too stingy to pay 200 € per year (price for the great dating site I recommanded below) to meet quality FSU girls on internet. I do watch the Russkii televisor, but my selection of shows is limited to what I can get here in the States. There's not much playing now that catches my attention.
