When you sent in your visa application, you were required to list ALL destinations, not just Moscow. Of course, you are also required to have an invitation from a travel agent for ALL destinations also. You need this invitation to register your passport in ALL your destinations. If you are not registered, you can have problems when you try to board your plane to return to Moscow. Sure you may be able to pay some fine or bribe, but do you want to take these chances?

The taxist (negociated him down to 800 this time) took me to a tochka that was located inside a street underpass for pedestrians. The was good choice, but the prices were quite steep: 5000/7000/10000 and 12000

If you do not have a Business visa you should have the cities or a tour program enlisted on your visa (with a reference number).

Usually if you are one or two weeks in Moscow and want to add St. Petersburg there will be no problem, but outer cities might be a problem.

Mind that thre have been a tight restriction on visia systems for UE citizens..
