Thanks. I am not sure what you meant by the metaphor "game" but thank you. I am trying to keep my options open. I am getting a better reception from college girls in the States than girls in their mid or late 20s which tells me that it is not just about looks but also about information and knowledge. A hotel I recommend in terms of "flash factor" is the SwissOtel Krasnye Holmy. Nicest hotel in Moscow right now... but at a price. Expect to pay about $400+/night. Only bad thing is the location, although technically central, it is on an island and you are not able to walk anywhere comfortably from there and will have to use taxi.

A very nice centrally-located hotel is the equally flashy Hotel Hyatt Ararat, also at least $400/night but within walking distance of many clubs etc.

Two interesting locally-operated hotels are Hotel Budapest (great location in the very center of tourist activities) and Hotel Tiflis (also central, but in a less-touristy part of town).

Both are fairly modern and a bit cheaper than the major Western hotels and average $250+/night for rooms. Space is limited, so book well in advance if you go with either of these girl-friendly options.

I doubt that there is any higher prevalence of HIV among Pitr-based pros. Sounds like you had fun in Moscow, especially at Fabrique. I have always liked that place, even though you can sometimes "get lost" in it... Its the favorite of many Moscow-based expats, so traditionally a Western-friendly club and considered semi-elite... meaning face control but certainly not that strict. Taxis: Definitely more and more legit taxis on the streets. Lately I have found that they are often even cheaper than "street taxis", especially if you order them ahead of time. That market is definitely changing.

WTF is going on Moscow, no hard liquor. I could only manage to find Jack at City Space/Swiss Hotel and Fabriq. Sorry for the late report, I cracked my left feet. Anyway,

I arrived beloved Moscow on Thursday morning (20 July), taxis are becoming more organized in each time. In my previous visits I could manage to find freelancers but in last three times I was surrounded by the the dispatchers. Anyway, I paid $50 for a Renault Clio from Sher II to Metro Kolomemenskaya (50 mins drive).

After a quick breakfast at my blood brother’s apartment, my girl friend(she is Moldivian) and I started to explore the city. If you want to experience Russian cuisine in reasonable prices, I highly recommend MU MU. There is one at Arbat close to Hard Rock Cofee. MU MU is definitely the cheapest Russian restaurant, on the contrary the quality is higher than many other $$ restaurants.

The flea market close to Izmaloshka Park is the best place to buy souvenirs. For the same products you only pay half price or ¼ of the Arbat prices.

It was summer time and there was a strange hard liquor problem all over the city. We could only manage to find jack at 34th floor of the Swiss Hotel. Awesome view, but they should definitely need a professional perspective on waitress outfits. It was a strange combination of nun dress and brides’ maids dress. Above all the view worth it.

Karma and Buddha simply sucked for a Friday night. Low profile crowd and liquor problems. We move from one spot to another at the end, we smoked kalyan/hokka at sunrise café at Novy Arbat.

When we went to MisterXXX(it was my favorite place), we found out that the magement had changed. The Gentleman’s club turned into a truckers strip club. Most of the waitresses were gone, only couple of dancers still remained but the quality of the customers was lower. They tried to sell Jameson instead of Jack. L We spent only two hours and had 4 lap dances. They asked 1500Rb cover for ladies, 750 for men.

Saturday night, first we met our friends at CF. CF is dead. Only bear and champagne, waitresses were getting ruder. The place was empty for a Saturday night. There were too many African expats and the quality of the crowd was lower than the usual.

Fabriq is the right place if you want top-notch dance club. There was a strict face control. But as long as you speak English and you don’t look too sloppy, you can easily get trough the face control. We only waited 5 mins, they didn’t let some 10/10-model type girls in, they said that the girls ratio was high enough. Cover cost you 300 Rub, this is the second place where you can find Jack and all other hard liquors in Moscow. Being with a Russian-speaking girlfriend opens many unexpected doors. Approaching other girls was smoother and easier, especially if you have a bisexual girl friend. If we didn’t stay at my blood brother’s apartment, we definitely left the place with two sisters.

In our last night, we went to B2. It was OK for Sunday night. The quality was lower than Fabriq, but we had fun.

Actually I blame the whole thing on the world cup and fellow ISG-commando Richard Cabro.

As you can tell, this report is dated... my CF visit was on July 5th, the day of the Portugal-France match in the world cup. RC and I had agreed to watch the football match together, which SHOULD have been England-France, and we had debated over where to watch it. An England fan, RC was a bit disappointed that his squad was out. As an American, I was a bit disappointed that our squad played like shit.

There are a few places showing sport on TV in Moscow, including Metallitsa, Sportland and the recently opened Bleachers. Bleachers was our original goal, as it is supposedly the best sports bar in Moscow and is the new operation of Doug.

Doug is one of the original owner/founders of several iconic Moscow establishments, including CF (now called Doug and Marty's Boarhouse) and the Hard Rock Cafe. There are a few other places he is involved in as well. Word has it that he is no longer involved in Boarhouse/CF, which will likely change the layout of our Moscow options somewhat. Time will tell if this is for better or worse.

RC and I were both running late to our meeting. He was somewhere out in Moscow-suburb Himki (IKEA-land) wooing a girl, which is way better than I have ever done in my periodic late-night excursions to Himki. My only memories of Himki involve roving packs of hungry wild flea-ridden dogs, roving packs of bored Klinskoe-drinking fascist youth and roving Lada patrol cars of cash-needy hungry, Klinskoe-drinking Moscow miliz.

I myself was busy fucking a girl, but have since forgotten which one it was. Likely candidates are Nastya, Vika or Dasha, but I really dont remember anymore. I'll have to contact CSI or check the dates on my video camera to piece that mystery together. God, I'll bet I left my DNA everywhere. Fuck.

In a display of astounding Prussian punctuality for someone as un-Prussian as I am, I arrived at CF at exactly 12 midnight.

RC hadnt arrived yet, but had confirmed per SMS that he was inbound, eta 30 minutes. With the football match on the big screen and the crowd equally divided between people rooting for the French and some heathens rooting for Portugal, I browsed the ho-collection areas around the bar, at the rear of the main room and along the outside of the dining area. Without waiting long, I approached a leggy attractive brunette sitting alone. We chatted a bit and as we conversed and she began to rub my leg and get cosy, I scanned the room for other candidates. It was way too early to decide on any one girl.

The quick scan revealed that there were quite a few new faces, mixed in with some "classic" models that have been around since the days when a dollar fetched 35 rubles and Tovarish Putin was still living in St.Pete. Nonetheless, my overall impression was surprisingly positive... and this even BEFORE I had any drink at all. Some notes of interest to the ISG reader:

* there appears to be new Russian management at CF. According to our info, Doug is leaving or has left to pursue his other endeavors.

* there was a noticeable quality increase in terms of relative sexiness of the girls. Whether or not this was just chance or will be a more long-lasting improvement has yet to be seen. (any feedback from other ISG posters is appreciated) This may be due to the new management, or may just be our subjective view of the menu on that particular night. (RC commented the same)

* price level seems to hover around $200-250/night, later in the evening $150+. I got quotes as high as $300 at the beginning, and even at 2am $200 seemed to be a virtually fixed price. Again, more commentary appreciated from fellow posters.

* a high percentage of the girls are actually from Moscow, which may partially explain the higher prices. The girls from the regions are less in number, which is a shame since they were often cheaper and generally good providers. Where they have gone to I do not yet know...

* the "security fee" ranges from 500 to 1000 rubles ($18-35). This seems virtually unavoidable and is a supreme annoyance, since it is a worthless scam and I can't stand those bloated security goons. In the past I avoided it by meeting the girl outside, maybe this still works.

Meanwhile, RC and I are having a great time trading war stories, the most fun I have had at CF in a long time. Proves what difference a great wingman/drinking buddy can make in the overall enjoyment of a night out. The girls have been infected by our positive vibe and are laughing and drinking... on our tab of course... but their vodka-Os and beers are priced relatively harmlessly. Its getting late (or early depending on your perspective) and time to make our exit. I never heard about this, think in Moscow these tests are really not available (otherwise, I guess, my doc would give them to me instead of making holes in the arm each time I need my tests done). They are available in America at many testing centers but not over the counter yet. The brand Orasure is the main one. When I was in Barbados I saw them being sold over the counter for 30 USD and they can be transported on a plane no problem it gives you the results in only a few minutes if there are any antibodies in the saliva and are considered 99% accurate. I know they were trying to get it sold over the counter in Europe but I am not sure if they have gotten EU approval for it. AHT 169- I really don't think you should worry about going to a Tochka without good Russian skills, especially if you have a driver. Just have a Russian phrase book and repeat the phrase I want to go to_____, and add the word Tochka. Once there all you have to do is point and the Mommachka will tell you how much. She will try asking you how much you want to pay first to separate the girls, but if you don't understand you can just shrug your shoulders and she will know how to handle the situation. She will probably use her cell phone to indicate the amount for the girl you want. Think of it as a fun adventure. Of course it is better if you speak some basic Russian, but I think you can still have fun, especially if you have a driver to help you, just give him a tip in his hand when you ask him to find you a Tochka so he will take better care of you, walk you through the process. For drivers, I use www.gotoru.com, They are not the cheapest option, but the drivers always are reliable in my opinion. Hope this encourages you to give the Tochki a try. Pat

"Swiss" is generally OK, but they have glass doors in the bathroom, which is unpleasant, plus location is not so good. In Hyatt you'll have to meet girls downstairs and see them out right to the car, because securitys are monsters, can catsh even in the street and lock girl in the police for several hours just to squeeze some money. Plus ugly high-teck desighn (though men like it . For the same money better stay in National - a classy, quiet place, or Savoy, or any Marriott except Courtyard (uncomfortable location). Among small nice hotels (like Tifliss) we also have "Alrosa" and "Sretenka" - very quiet, in the center. For those who asked, these are oral HIV antibody tests sold over the counter. I do not think they are available in Moscow yet, never saw them, but if there was a place that would it would be the drug store (Apteka) on Tverskaya Street near the Kremlin and the MCDonalds, I found it to be one of the most modern Apteki in Central Moscow. Swedes are quite open sexually. I am not a Sweden expert at all, however based on what I have read and been told first hand by Sweden regulars is that it is quite easy to score freebies in Sweden if you have decent "game". The pro scene sucks, with the femnazi movement in full swing in otherwise sexually liberal Sverige. A big advantage is that everybody speaks English... which is not the case in EE.

For those who asked, these are oral HIV antibody tests sold over the counter. I do not think they are available in Moscow yet, never saw them, but if there was a place that would it would be the drug store (Apteka) on Tverskaya Street near the Kremlin and the MCDonalds, I found it to be one of the most modern Apteki in Central Moscow. Some staff speak limited English. Pat

Well I am finally going to moscow this fall. I am really looking forward to taking advantage, more ways than one.

I have been reading up and it seems that if a poor smuck like me doesn't speak any Russian, the mongering seems limited to NF, CF or other such venues. tochkas seem to be a stretch at best. Any thoughts or suggestions for a non Russian speaker.

Also, one additional question, I am considering hiring a driver. Any suggestions on who can be trusted?

AHT 169- I really don't think you should worry about going to a Tochka without good Russian skills, especially if you have a driver. Just have a Russian phrase book and repeat the phrase I want to go to_____, and add the word Tochka. Once there all you have to do is point and the Mommachka will tell you how much. She will try asking you how much you want to pay first to separate the girls, but if you don't understand you can just shrug your shoulders and she will know how to handle the situation. She will probably use her cell phone to indicate the amount for the girl you want. Think of it as a fun adventure. Of course it is better if you speak some basic Russian, but I think you can still have fun, especially if you have a driver to help you, just give him a tip in his hand when you ask him to find you a Tochka so he will take better care of you, walk you through the process. For drivers, I use www.gotoru.com, They are not the cheapest option, but the drivers always are reliable in my opinion. Hope this encourages you to give the Tochki a try. Pat
