Will be in St.Pete next week and regrettably I will be staying at the Hotel Oktyabryskaya... not my choice, but out of solidarity to a biz partner on his first trip I am staying in the same hotel as he is. The hotel is ok if you just want to sleep there and have a shower in the morning, but usually I stay in private apartments for all the right reasons.
I know about the girls in the little cafe there... not too impressive if you ask me and not a bargain in price either.
Anybody had luck bringing girls from other places, such as Marstalls, back to the hotel?
Is it the standard let the girl do the talking + upgrade to double room?

I´m going to St.Petersburg in September and I´ve never been there before. I visited Tallinn some months ago and I really liked all private apartments that was quite easy to find cause of this forum. Is there a similar system in St.P. Cause I can´t bring girls to my hotell.
Another thing was that it was quite cheap to go to apartments in Tallin. I hope for the best. Glad for all kind of advise.
And many thanks for this forum.

The forum is flooded by your message. I don't think that it is the best way to ask some help. You should put adds in local newspapers.

Posts: 41Hi, I will be making a big tour around Eastern Europe, Russia.
planning to stay in any other town that might be worth a visit. I am looking to get in touch with some locals who can also speak English or German, who have good communicative skills trying to make some money or find a new well paid job. Please get in touch with me or perhaps you can give me a referal of someone trustworthy who might be able to help me out in some of those towns finding some young girls, uni students, semi pros etc,

Posts: 3Thanks Dusty-Bin for the info.
Money is not a problem, the apartment I had in mind is furnished with antiques (a bit like me).
I was also thinking of Moscow but the apartment I wanted is occupied by a guy called (Putin) and they would not kick him out for the weeks I wanted.
But seriously I look at the apartment then what’s going on in the district.
This is my first time in Russia I will look south of the river on your advice. Also, does St. Petersburg have the line-up like Moscow that I have heard about
Regards,
Phil

You need to stay in the southern part of the city, if you are on Vassilevsky Island to save money, just rent a place a little further out of town to the south.
Vassilievsky has many pleasant areas, but nightlife, as far as foreigners and newbies is concerned is concentrated around the city centre, the only well known club on Vassilievsky, that I know of is Plaza and I never went because of the bloody bridges!
If you are going in winter there is less of a problem, because when the Neva freezes, the bridges stay down IIRC during November-March.

Across the river...
Scary place! Here be dragons...
Seriously, I have only once stayed on that side of the water. It was a big mistake. I was in (IIRC) the Hotel Vyborksaya. A very cheap place a couple of minutes walk from the metro.
It had one redeeming feature, had I but known soon enough.
There was a brothel on the fourth floor.
I only found it on my last day as I was sitting in the cafeteria on that floor (have you guys noticed the tendency for cheap Russian hotels to have things like shops and beauty parlours and cafes spread through their floors...) waiting to go back home when I noted that there was a significant number of lightly clad girls wandering in and out getting cups of hot water for their tea.
As the hotel was largely populated by students, I am not sure as to the target market for this enterprise.
I can offer no more assitance than this. If you possibly can, get a place nearer to the centre, you will be rewarded.

Posts: 270I know nothing of the Moscow scene, but find it hard to believe that, in respect of rent, it would be any different.
One of the reasons for the same girls working at Marstalls for years is the chargig structure, it encourages regular attendance, $100 per week is cheap compared to $30 per client, assuming that she is regular. The per client fee encourages girls to come and go. For me both systems have their advantages. I get the feeling that Marstall is aimed at the expats who are new in town and who will therefore not know that the girls have been there since the flood. Magrib is a place for guys who know a little more and so variety is needed. Later we graduate to Rossi, Absinthe etc. and find a girlfriend...
