In my opinion the newbie to the St.Pete scene has two easy-access options:

1) hotel girls/and or call in from the bell boy
2) pick up bars

St.Pete doesn't seem nearly as differentiated in its options as Moscow (is there even a tochka/line up scene there? Anybody know?), but besides the above there are the various internet portals, the salon scene and the overpriced strip club scene. These other options are mentioned in previous posts.

The Grand Hotel Kempinski Europa is the best hotel in St.Pete, bar none. The other western hotels Nevsky Palace, Astoria, the Radisson and Angleterre just don't have the flair of Europa IMHO. The location is also the best, centrally located on Nevsky Prospekt and within walking distance of most central tourist sites as well as many restaurants, bars and shopping areas.

I've never seen more than 2 or 3 bar girls working there, but these are usually girls sitting together at a table or alone. Not every girl sitting alone at the bar is automatically a prostitute. She might just be waiting for her boyfriend. But try to make eye contact and if she is alone for awhile or sitting with a girlfriend looking bored, chances are she is in the game.
Plan on spending at least $200 if not more. I doubt she'll go below that, especially in high season. At a hotel where rooms go for $350 and up, bargaining over $50 seems pretty petty anyway. The girls there will likely be more beautiful than the majority of the girls at the pick up bars, whose quality ranges from 5-8 in my opinion. Rarely have I seen a 9 at of those places...if ever.

You can ask a bell boy, but be discreet. I've never done it personally, preferring to go to the pick up bars.

The pick up bars I know of in St.Pete are Marstalls, located in front of the big church in the center of town, just down Nevsky from the Kempinski Europa hotel and the Tribunal bar, located down by the water....can't remember the address, but is well known and advertised in the english language papers.
Both are medium size bars with dancing and a strip show. I found the strip show at Marstalls to be better, but the girls at Tribunal to be cuter...that surely varies from night to night though. Lots of expats at both, expat women as well. They pale in comparison to the local babes, but are probably fairly easy to pick up since no one is paying attention to them. But why go out for hamburger when you can have steak. Prices for the working girls should be the same at both places, about $100. They'll probably ask for $150. Some might go for less than $100, but I doubt the really cute ones will during high season. In high season the cute ones might even try to stick to $150, but I've never paid that much personally. If you feel like bargaining, go for it. Again, not every girl at Marstalls or Tribunal is a prostitute. I was at Marstalls 2 weeks ago determined to take home a working girl and chatted up two girls, took them upstairs to sit, bought them drinks and started talking about going back to my apartment and asking if they wanted to go... they said they weren't that kind of girl and had just come to dance for awhile before going to another disco...they were students waiting for the cover charge to end at the other place. Ended up going to the other disco with both of them but didn't get laid. Damnit! But that's another story. Still, chatting up girls there is fun in any case, and if she is a working girl she'll let you know soon enough.

The best girl I ever picked up in St.Pete was from the Hollywood Nites disco/club just down the street from the Kempinski hotel on Nevsky Palace. The best $100 I ever spent, a Georgian girl...a solid 9 in performance and looks. Last time I was at Hollywood Nites, about a year ago, it was quite dead though. Not sure on the scene there now... But it used to be packed with sizzlin' hot chicks 2 years ago. Might be worth taking a look at. Anybody else been there recently?

I have taken girls back to the Kempinski, no problem. She'll have to register at the desk. You shouldn't be too embarassed, happens all the time. Most girls will stay till morning. If you've got time, take her out for a drink somewhere first, might improve the chemistry and the subsequent performance. Try to negotiate for the whole night, that should be in the price.

Since money is no option, you might try an agency. Sorry, but I have no experience there. I prefer to see the girls first anyway, but agencies to promise top material. There are a couple recommended in previous posts.

I personally prefer the Moscow scene to St.Pete, but I've heard other guys say the exact opposite. In any case, have a great time and post a report when you get back.

Whats going on in St. Petersburg

I heard the streets were all blocked off for the 300 year anniversary with Bush, Putin etc visiting.

I know hotels were almost impossible to get.

Are things back to normal?

What is a reasonable girl friendly hotel?

Russian dating sites.

I’ve been reading this forum for some time now and I will visit St. Pete this summer for business. I will be there only for 3 days unfortunately, but will try to have a GFE. I think that 2 nights is too little to find a nice girl in a bar or elsewhere so I try to prepare from here by having a look at Russian dating sites. I speak reasonable Russian (2 on a scale from 1-6), so Cyrillic should not be a problem in most cases.

Does anyone of you have (good or bad) experiences with Russian dating sites? What I found out so far is that many of them contain crap, copies of photos of other sites and fake photos that will only generate plain spam once you send them an email. (Fortunately I am using a disposable email address for this).

Noah: The boat moves around some. As I said, last spring it was anchored across the street from the Trib. In the summer, it was anchored on the other side of the Neva way down by the shipyard. I found this out unfortunately after my GFE had left their employ. I had 6 weeks to spend there in the summer, and it could have been one for the books! What I would recommend is asking a taxi driver or gypsy cabbie. Most of them know the ropes pretty well. You may also get offered something else from them. I got an offer once of 3 girls for an hour for $60. I'd recommend turning them down unless you can arrange a safe place to meet. Never let someone you don't know well or have recommended to you know where you live. St. Pete isn't dangerous per se, but it's best to be safe.

chicagoboy: Yes, St. Pete is wonderful. Beyond the spectcular sex (pro and amateur) available it is a great city. If you are into jazz, check out JFC Jazz Club. It's a favorite of expats and anyone who can appreciate good music. You can also meet some good amateurs there, though it's not a great place for scoping. I also recommend that anyone going to St. Pete go see Club Metro just once (it's on Ligovsky Prospekt about 2 km from the center). Besides being an awesome spectacle (five floors of different types of bars and the coolest skinhead women security staff), you can meet great women of all types there (pros, semipros, and amateurs). I have met more than a handful of women there. Most were amateurs just looking for a good time. One girl in particular was 22 years old, told me that she managed a tour agency, and offered to give me a city tour the next day. After dinner, I got taken on a bonus trip around the world, ifun you know what I mean. This girl wasn't great looking (a 6 by Russian standards = an 8-9 American), but she was really wild. When she left the next morning, I was totally wasted. I kept falling asleep the next day during business presentations. If you go to Club Metro, go after midnight. The place comes alive then.

One point that I should make, in my posts on amateurs I'm not trying to brag, just reporting. Any man who is breathing and semi interesting should be able to find a woman in St. Pete. I am in my late 30s, about 25 pounds overweight, wear glasses, etc. My only problem with women in St. Petersburg is not getting married multiple times. Yes, I know that it probably has a lot to do with the fact that I'm Western and can provide a route to getting a green card, but I have been with women in Russia that expressed no interest at all in leaving. Russian women in general despise Russian men, and are looking for anyone that will treat them with a little respect. The key, as others have suggested here, is to be forward and a little cocky.

Regarding visas, a place that I didn't see mentioned on this board (though I may have missed it) to get an invitation letter is http://gotorussia.net (no WWW in front). They will send you an invitation letter for a tourist visa. The service is fast, I got my invitation letter within 48 hours. Then send this off with the other materials to the Russian embassy for the visa. A nice thing is that they will also register your visa for $20 when you get to St. Pete (their office is at 29 Ligovsky Prospekt, just around the corner from Metro station Moskovsky Vokzal and the Oktyabrskaya Hotel). This really helps since normal visa registration stinks.

Regarding flights, try using an airline consolidator (one online is http://www.airlineconsolidator.com). They can save you as much as 50 percent off published fares, depending on the season (less in summer).

More tips later. But I'm off to the Baltics now for three weeks. I hope to have much, much fun!!

I was supposed to go to St. Petersburg this month, but a death in the family has delayed it for a while. When is the boat available? Is it seasonal? I've been a lurker here for some time, but decided to put in my two cents worth about my favorite city. A couple of observations about St. Petersburg from someone who has spent a bit of time there...Stay away from most of the strip clubs on or near the city center (like Golden Dolls), as other posters have alluded to it is definitely YMMV. At best, you will overpay for decent service, something that you can get elsewhere for MUCH less.

A couple of alternatives, if you like the strip club scene are the boat on the Neva. Last spring it docked on the Admiralty Embankment, just across from the Trib. Entrance fee was 300 rub on weekdays, 600 on weekends, and drinks were a little steep. But this was more than compensated for by the quality, quantity, and service provided by the talent. Between dances, the dancers would circulate. For a 50 rub. tip (no more!!) a molodaya, krasivwree devushka would rub herself on you, you could touch as much as you wanted (right at your table), and most would reciprocate the touch. Almost every single girl told me that I could take them downstairs for an hour for 40-50 USD. I didn't partake of this service, but a buddy did and said it lived up to billing. Why didn't I partake? Because I sat with one of the girls who didn't offer a visit downstairs; we made out like teenagers. She became my girlfriend for the remainder of that weeklong visit. A weeklong GFE from a great 20-year old model type. Nuff said.

Another option is the club Father Colorado. It is on Vasilevsky Island, on Bolshoy Prospekt about half a mile before the Sea Terminal. The cover charge was much less, drinks much less, but the selection was also leaner. But we went during the week each time. They have a straight up deal. You pay $100 for an hour in a room with the girl of your choice. I went with Lera, an intoxicatingly beautiful 18-year old (she said) girl from Murmansk. This was an ATF, she rocked my world. Great oral skills, every position, she even offered Greek. It was tough to pass up, even though I'm not into that. For a slight extra donation (600 rub. as I recall), she took a facial blast and didn't even blink! She was really into the sex and pleasing me, which is nice from a pro. Then on top of it, she asks me if I will take her out on a date the next night! I didn't take her up on this, because I had met someone else that was on the verge of becoming my main squeeze, but I'd do her again in a second. I realize that $100 per hour is a little high by club girl standards, but this really was worth it.

A final comment is that while Golden Dolls charges a lot more than other places (if you really want the atmosphere of GD I'd try Maximus, better value for the money), a lot of the girls there also dance in other places. My 20 year old danced at GD twice a week, and on the boat 3 times. She made it seem like a common practice.

I also have some advice on other clubs, girls, strategies, if anyone is interested. If not, happy hunting all!!

Just got back from St. Petersburg. Highly recommend city.

Met an awesome 21 year old student at Tribunal. She was very enthusiastic and extremely hot.

Girls here are great.

Price was $150 for night.

Sightseeing was good to. However its still very cold in May. It actually sleeted and I saw chunks of ice in the river.
