Last time I was there was about 3 months ago and entrance fee was still 500 rubles, luckily I had an old free entrance coupon which they accepted. Girls were top as usual, prices were varied, from $30 up for various services from their "crazy menu". Opening price for a full-fledged private dance was $100. I wasn't interested, as $100 will get you a lot more a few blocks down the street.

Standard tip is 100 rubles. I've gotten away with 50 before, but really 100 is expected.

Just returned from Moscow and St. Pete recently and can say as a person who ONLY speaks english....St. Petersburg is very accessable to the tourist. Much, Much more than in Moscow. Seems to be more people around that know english and more people around that actually want to help a tourist out.
I cannot comment on the Escort Services, I was only there for 3 days and was quite happy with the girls in the hotel bars on site. There is a local paper (I forget the name), printed in English. You can usually pick up a current copy in the cabs or in any one of the Hotels there.

PS - I might suggest getting a English to Russian phrasebook of sorts (just as a backup). I used mine quite a bit, but more for fun with the girls than an actual need. If not, stick with the cabbies or the hotel personel and you will get along without problems.

Making my first trip to St Pete in early June. I'm a veteran of the Moscow scene and have posted a couple of times over there.

I've read through the advice for St Pete and am interested in calling one of the agencies, either Liza's or one of the others listed in the online St Pete Times.

If you looking for good brothel in St.Pete, the answer is simple: there aren't any. Well, to be precise, there are no brothels which will satisfy you from sanitary and comfort perspective. Girls there tired of abuse from local clientele, who often wants to squeeze every second from negotiated price (often $30/hour or less, and they actually getting 30% of it - the rest goes to "MAMKA").
