I have taken at least ten courier flights for five years, from New York City to destinations like Brazil, Singapore, and Europe, but that was before 9/11 event. I used to be a member of International Association of Air Travel Couriers. You do not have to be a member of this association to travel as a courier.

Nowadays, Jupiter still "hires" couriers for a few destinations. Try http://www.jupiterair.com/courierflgt.htm and good luck with that. I am sure there will be other companies too.

I agree with all of what Mangus Man said and that there is a catch! In my case, I got used to those "catches" after a couple of flights. BTW, I never paid over $150 for any flight anywhere, because I picked my flight and the destination a day earlier. Sometimes, even the companies would call at my work and would ask me to fly to some place the next day for free. Magnus Man must have booked his flight atleast a couple of weeks earlier and that cost way more. Oh yeah, they would fly me first class on some occassions. No wonder, my ticket was the highest paid airfare. ($2,000-$8,000)

I tried flying as a courier once when I went to Brazil. It cost me $350 for round trip to Sao Paulo from Miami. Of course there's a catch. they don't give you the return ticket, because they're afraid you'll sell it. Yeah right, like I'm going to stay in Sao Paulo for the rest of my life and never return to the USA!

So they tell me that on my return, to come a few hours early and wait by the ticket counter for the freight company's errand boy to meet me and he'll have my ticket. So I wait and wait, watching everyone else check in and board, and I'm asking the guy at the counter if he knows anything about courier tickets, and naturally they know nothing. Hours go by and I start to freak out cause the plane's leaving in 15 minutes and ten minutes later he finally shows up. I do an O.J. Simpson through security and am the last one to board.

The other catch is that you can't check a suitcase, you can only carry on a bag. when I went, it was before 9/11, so I had scissors and other prohibited stuff that you can't carry on anymore. You can save a chunk of money, but there's always a catch!

Yes, they like americans, and are open to talk to you.. I always enjoy seducing teenagers in the pizza parlors or coffee shops. You can have alot of fun that way. Try the pubs, too, and discos.

Hotels are cheap in novosibirsk as a general rule.
