Being of serbian descent I can give you couple of pointers. Basically two categories of chicks; money hungry aka sponzoruse and smart boyfriend type girls.

Well, some of the things are a little far-fetched, and I feel the need to intervene:

1. I worked for 6 months in Belgrade, and yes, there are educated and emancipated women working in banks and law-firms, but there is no fucking way that the young ones make more than 1500 Euro/month. No way!

2. Yes, they are sponsoruse but isn't this absoultely beautiful?

Let me give you a quick tip, and then i rest my case. The coolest club in town, while i was there, was Mr. Stefan Brown. After my first 2 unsuccessful months in Belgrade, i realized there is no need to pay for sex in the capital of beauty! So i studied the "Balkan-men attitude", on one hand acting conquistadores, on the other, smashing their fist on the table when the time comes and saying "woman...obey!" Serbia women love this! As much as they ask for Italian charm or Spanish warmth, the only thing that makes them wet was, is, and will be Balkan-men attitude. After i implemented it in my charisma, i picked up girls almost every Monday night in Stefan Brown (Monday is the best night to go there, as strange as it may sound). And at some point i was dating 4 at the same time!

Stop bitching, Belgrade women are more than accessible if you know how to get them!

Even then, Serbia's women do have much much troubles in their own brain and that is one of the most often topics spoken here in all circles. The story of Ivana's half million $ mobile phone, present from her billionaire husband (with the headline saying "To je muz! " ("That's the husband! "). And let's not forget the standard faces from the magazine covers. The wives and girlfriends of the wealthy Serbian football/basketball players.

Ambitious here has grown very, very big.

Apart from "Stories of Success" (I like the term, Nenad) and more to the real life:

300 EUR might be the average salary in Serbia, but that's not the average salary in Belgrade. Banks, law firms and big foreign companies are full of young, university-educated, English-speaking Serbian females, earning 1000-2500 EUR per month. And guess what. You won't find their phone numbers in "masaza oglasi" or "escort ads", no matter how much you try.

Neither the Serbian women who do earn 300 EUR per month automaticly go to sex-market (no matter how much the weather in Serbia reminds you of the weather in Thai or Indoneasia).

I understand that you get pissed of with the idea that for money you planed to p4p in Serbia. You can get only a looser. But that's not a reason to qualify the posts of well-informed locals as "stupid and silly".

Here in Belgrade, where average sallary is about 300euros most of girls talk about millions of euros but tomorrow will not have money for cigarettes. It is so sad. Girls are almost same, they want money and rich men.

Just another tip that I just remembered. Right across the Turkish Embassy there is a Hotel Excelsior. There women can be found who are interested in making some money. It is in the city center.

From experience (I was there last summer) I can tell that Belgrade is no easy target for punters. Despite the fact that, indeed, the rumors are true and there are a lot of beautiful women in the city. Great bodies and typical Slavic look. What makes it difficult, for one, is that very few people have a solid grasp of the English language (or, in some cases I suspect at least, pretented not to). For a sure-way to a girl it is best to make conversation with a cab driver. In all, I don't think the "culture" is really suited for our interests.
