For both places you don't need an appointment. I believe both of them are 24 hours. The first one I'd be comfortable going late at night. Is near La Pedrera so there's a lot of foot traffic cause tourists want to take a pic there. The second one I wouldn't go if I was going alone though is near a metro station.
