Never been to Spain before, I was planning to go to Prague but covid is increasing there out of control.

What are the typical rates for 30 mn and 1 hour with Barcelona incall girls?

Means 50 for 40 minutes and 60 for hour most likely.

It isn't. This all comes down to clubs and Asian Massage Parlors.

As the article noted, prostitution is legal in Spain in that it is not a crime for the customer to buy and for the seller to sell sex.

Spain, like most counties with otherwise legal prostitution, outlaw the elements of prostitution, namely pimping, operating a brothel without a license, and public solicitation.

Spain sometimes raids clubs and massage parlors and find Romanians at the clubs and Asians at the massage parlors who claim why to be coerced. It doesn't factor in the thousands and thousands of sex workers plying their trade as independents and working at the shared private apartments. If the denominator included all sex workers instead of the ones the police encountered during a raid, the percentage might not even be 1 percent..

There's very little coercion of sex workers in Spain. The economics of the industry don't permit it. There's a mismatch between supply & demand. Far too many girls wanting to rent out what they're sitting on. Not enough guys wanting to pay for it. This has been true all through history everywhere there haven't been severe impediments interfering in the commerce. It's relatively unskilled work doesn't take a lot of effort & can be reasonably remunerative & there's never any shortage of talentless lazy women wanting to earn a few bob.

The price of the service is set by the market. A coerced girl can never undercut a willing girl because coercion costs money. The stronger the coercion required, the more it costs. Neatly proved by the British police in an operation conducted over several years at a cost of millions of pounds investigating their own sex industry. And failing to come up with a single case they were able to take to court. What people call "pimps" are just part of the service providers the girls pay a portion of their income to, to facilitate them finding clients & having somewhere to work. That's the agencies, clubs, villas, apartments, massage parlours, advertising sites, whatever. They work for the girls, not the girls for them. And what they charge is again set by the market. There's an excess of service providers, because so many people are under the illusion there's pots of money in doing it. Mostly they go bust before they make any. The girls will seek to optimise what they pay with what they earn.

OK, you get the guy puts his wife / girlfriend on the game & lives off her. Maybe with threats & coercion. But that's a societal problem. He'd do the same having her work in a factory or shop. He's just an asshole.

However, the more restrictions put on the sex industry, the harder it is for girls to get together with clients, the more opportunities there are for coercion. Spain's free of it, at the moment, because there's so few restrictions on the industry. Sanchez gets his legislation through, that'll inevitable change.

Hopefully someone can answer specifically for Barcelona, and some things can vary by region, but as of very recently in Madrid, there was no problem with escorts going into a hotel and up to rooms, or meeting in the lobby due to the need for an elevator key card. People wear masks, and the signs require masks. But lobbies are full of people and there is no special security outside the hotel entrances.

But there is no culture in Spain, or in Western Europe or North America for that matter, of denying entry into hotels or if investigating why someone is in a hotel. There are restaurants, shops, and conventions in hotels. They want foot traffic, and they treat men and women as equals.

So it is just propaganda put out by the Socialist Party. I am not sure why the Socialist Party takes the position it does on this issue. I suspect they don't want anyone earning a good living.

Clubs and massage parlors really aren't our friends when it comes to publicity. But that doesn't mean the statistics that are taken from them is representative of the population.

Eden34 by Brahma is not the same as Brahma Massage (or other massage parlours) - it's an independent escort agency, where the girls might of course give you a massage, but it will be purely amateur as this is not exactly their line of work.

It's not, but people who strongly oppose prostitution often make outrageous statements based on projections, faulty data, and personal Anecdotal evidence from lowest segments of prostitution IMO. Prostitution is rather big in Barcelona as you guys probably know, and there seem to be big support and tolerance from the general population and the government there despite not being "legal" in Spain. If the central government is serious about banning prostitution they first need support from other parties, which are more supportive of prostitution IIRC. No way their rivals will support banning prostitution.
