The Westin Palace is a very nice Hotel, expensive though (+200 EUR per night), good location, but not walking distance to any clubs that I am aware of. If you were going there with your wife/girlfriend, I would say, good choice. For mongering I suggest you stay at the Hotel Hesperia Emperatiz www.hesperia.com (Calle Lopez de Hoyos 4). This is a **** Hotel, mostly for business people. The rate per night should be around 160 EUR. Make sure you ask for a quinn/king bed (cama matrimonial) so you don't get a room with those small european beds. This Hotel is in a very nice area (Salamanca), it is walking distance to the following clubs:

- Michel Angelo (30 seconds, same street)
- Don Juan de Marco (1 minute, same street)
- San Jorge (1 minute, same street)
- Pigmalion (1.5 minutes, Calle del Pinar)

My favorite is Pigmalion. Go back in the forum and you will find some reports on these clubs.

On the same street there is a great bar (normal bar) called Dejate Besar, it does not get started until 12:30 (opens at 11:00pm), but great music and you see some times some good looking none working Madrilenas. The crowd is 30+.

Hot (another club) in Plaza Colon is not very far from this Hotel. Walking distance 15/20 minutes. A taxi ride would be 4/5 EUR or you can take the bus for 1 EUR, they go by every 5 minutes on Castellana (1/2 block from Hotel).

About right. Went there on last Saturday about 615 pm but about half full of customers. Never stayed past midnight. 5 or 6 am depending on the time of the year and customers.

Been to Madrid for over 2 months and decided to try some of the actions at FP. Took the Metro to Charmintin Station to change to C8 to Los Matas. Had problems find the platform where the train departs due to construction in the station and no sign. For follow monger it is Via 7 even though it reads C10 but it is C8. About 30 minutes later got into Los Matas Station, cross the pedestrian bridge and walked north and swing a right and you are in the club.

Did not pay for entrance fee as nobody asked infront. Got there about 600 pm. Place is quite pack and ladies are just getting into the club. Must be 20 or so customers and same numbers of ladies. Got talking to this Bulgarian chick about 5-8 125 and busty. Maybe a 7/10. She told me 55 Euros for 30 mintues. Turned her down as Eastern European is not my cup of tea. Ordered a 10 Euros beer and sat in the bar and watch the people go by for about an hour. Then ran into a brown hair Brazilian chick. She told me she is from San Paulo, 27 about 5-8 and 120 or so. the closest train station to go to FP is Principe Pio. Not much of a difference, actually, maybe 10 minutes faster. Don't know about the difference in the frequency of trains going to FP, but from Principe Pio you may get trains two different trains, while I think that you can only take one from Chamartin. Double check this, though. Of course if Chamartin is close to where you're staying, nothing of the above applies.

70 E / 30 min. is standard rate. You may want to try to bargain it down to 60 or so, but not always. And, since you stayed for a bit more than 30 min. I'd say you were not paying too much. One thing I usually do is to raise a bit the amount (say, 80) and raise the time (say, 45 min.). This usually works.

Dan, try to stay at either Plaza Mayor or Tribunal area. The area is small and all within 15 minutes walk. Been to the areas mentioned, saw some SWs but quality not good. There are lots of pickpockets in that area, so watch out for your valuables.
