Playa Jardin

The nightlife and sin on offer in Puerto de la Cruz seems wholly clustered on and around Avenida Venezuela. For our interests, on that street there is at least Club Venus, Bar Black Cats, and Pub Oxigen. All three of these are brothels, as far as I could tell. In nighttime, the latter two, which are situated next to each other, have employees on the street in front trying to entice male passersby to their establishments.

I did not visit Club Venus (Av. Venezuela 11, in the shopping center Teide), which advertises as a strip club, though I did correspond with the manager via WhatsApp. They claim to have some seven girls, and do business Mon-Sat 13:00-21:00 with prior appointment, 21:00-04:00 in the club. They have a number of classifieds on Pasion. From their photos, their talent didn't impress--with a single exception, but as the girl isn't named, it'd be a little difficult to book her.

The talent at Bar Black Cats (Av. Venezuela 4) looked much better in their classifieds on Pasion, so I called them up and (thought I had) booked Karol for an hour that evening at 23:00. The madam Samantha, an older Brazilian working girl herself, speaks some English but was very rushed on the phone and kept repeating that I should just show up after eleven when the girls start working. As it turned out, that conversation didn't actually count as a booking.

Arriving at the bar, Karol was nowhere in sight. The only girl there that evening that I saw was Natalia, a heavier late thirties Russian from Moscow. I bought Natalia a lady drink (20, as I recall) and chatted a bit about their business. Their rates are a bit exorbitant at 100 for half an hour, 200 for the full hour. The use of the room's jacuzzi costs extra, though if you're uninterested they'll try to throw that plus a drink in as freebies for a one-hour session. They claim to have some three girls working each night. Their opening hours are a bit unclear, as I was given contradictory information; in any case, they seem to be open after 23:00 and into the wee hours. I left rather unimpressed with the management.

I didn't visit Pub Oxigen, downstairs from Black Cats, other than to have a quick peek. I haven't seen them advertise, but my sense that they are in the same line of business stems from an observation of what looked to be some darker-skinned working girls at the bar, as well as from their usher complaining "Why them? Why not us?" when I was on my way to Bar Black Cats and refused her advances. My answer "I have an appointment" was sufficient to stop her pestering me. Though as it turned out, I didn't have an appointment and would perhaps have been better served checking out the competition.

El Numero 15

I visited El Numero 15 on a Sunday afternoon, hoping to get laid given their advertisements of "chicas 24 horas". The girls Ruby and Karina, in particular, looked appealing. The location (Ctra. General Puerto Cruz - Arenas, 15, 38400 Puerto de la Cruz) is easy enough to find and no more than a one-kilometer and 15-minute walk up from the beach on Av. Blas Prez Gonzlez. To outer gate for the premises is not locked, so just push that open and proceed to the inner gate that has a buzzer.

Once they buzz you in, climb the stairs to be greeted by the madam and seated in a room with a couch and two armchairs. This is presumably where the lineup would take place, but I didn't quite get that far. After entering, the madam asked if I wanted a drink (asked for some water, promptly delivered) and indicated that I should wait. After some minutes, she returned saying that only a single girl was working that Sunday, and she wasn't on the premises yet.

I inquired whether more girls would be working later that night, and was answered in the negative. As we were speaking, the girl in question (Erika) arrived on the premises and greeted me, but as she was 40+ and heavyset, I bid my goodbyes and departed. I suspect that while a working girl, she is more of an assistant to the madam and that is the only reason she was there on a Sunday. So, this establishment is to be avoided on Sundays.

Freelancers

At this point a little frustrated with what the town had to offer, yet doggedly unwilling to venture further afield to Santa Cruz, La Laguna, or Las Americas for my pleasures, I turned to the classifieds. There was nothing much useful in the local paper Diario de Avisos, with most of that business seeming to have moved onto the web by now. The main sites I perused were Pasion, Slumi, and Algo Discreto, though there are many more.

As I wanted to find genuine independents, the strategy I used was to google advertised phone numbers to weed out adverts with red flags, such as multiple different girls sharing the same number (most likely an agency handling the bookings). Similarly, I screened for counter-indications such as fiestas blancas (use of narcotics).

My Spanish being a work in progress, I put together a cheatsheet and scripted interaction in Spanish for the interaction of booking a time the same night, and proceeded to call up promising leads. Most numbers called were not reachable, being either disconnected or "no esta disponible en este momento". But with persistence, there is payoff. Based on previous reports, Number 15 would probably be worth visiting as well, but I didn't end up giving them another chance after already having shifted my attention toward the freelance market. And I would personally avoid Avenida Venezuela altogether, didn't see any good value for money there.

As in previous visits I haven't been very impressed with the mongering available on Tenerife. It seems to be harder work with fewer good experiences than almost anywhere else I have been in Spain. I was delghted to get on the plane to Gran Canaria.

I have been to Tenerife again this year so here is my report.

Casa Cristys has not closed despite a previous poster saying it had. It is at exactly the same address I gave for it last year and still has the same phone number. When I went there were only 2 girls in the line up and I didn't think very much of them so I didn't stay.

Sirenitas. Calle Hermano Pedro No. 4, Las Chafiras. 28.056244, -16.623191. The phone number can be easily found by searching for them on http://www.pasion.com/. A little place under half a mile from Casa Cristys and a lot easier to park outside. I went in the early afternoon during the week and there were 3 girls available. I found all of them attractive and was happy to stay. It was €100 for an hour and I felt I got better service here than I did anywhere else during my visit to Tenerife. If I had been on the island longer I would have returned but I left the next day so didn't get the chance to.

Casa Helenita. Av Modesto Hernandez Glez No. 69, Door F, Apt 1 D (although once you get inside you need to look for the door marked F4). 28.048039, -16.624013. I went on Sunday afternoon and they had 2 girls available. Both were attractive and an hour was €100. I was not impressed with the service I got here and would not bother to return.

Places seem to open and close on an almost daily basis in LOS Cristianos, I visited a few places in that area but none seem to be advertising now so I won't bother to give their details. Quite a lot of the adverts for individual girls around there are actually for casas. I found it very hard to find anywhere that was open before mid afternoon.

In La Laguna I went to Casa Clara, Calle Dr Zamenhof No. 32 and Casa Emily, Calle Elias Serra Rafols No. 37 Apt. 104 but I wasn't impressed with either line-up so did not stay. That was at lunchtime on a Saturday. If you go to Casa Emily I suggest you phone them. I just turned up and rang the buzzer but they wouldn't answer it until I rang them.

I have just spent some time on Tenerife so here is an update. I will post this in the Canary Islands thread as well as the Tenerife one as the latter seems to be almost dead.

The website I prefer for my Gran Canaria information http://www.guiasexcanarias.com/ does also cover Tenerife but http://www.canarias69.com/ seems to be better when it comes to Tenerife.

Places I visited were:

I had high hopes for this place which is out in the country a couple of kilometers south of Tenerife North airport. They are supposed to open at 3 pm. I first went at 5 pm on a Saturday, I wandered inside to a sort of bar area, there were 3 or 4 blokes in there and 6 or 7 girls sitting around. None of the girls were in their work clothes, instead they were dressing gowns and track suits. It was, as I said, a bar area but nobody was drinking and I couldn't work out what was going on so after a minute of two I decided to leave. As I was going there was a girl smoking on the steps so I asked her if they were actually open, she said they were but suggested it would be much better to come back later, she advised after 8 pm.

A few days later I took her advice and went at about 8. 30. This time everything progressed in a more conventional way: I was welcomed by the madam and then the girls presented themselves to me in the bar area. I selected a curvy girl from the Dominican Republic. Her service was adequate although I was rather surprised at the fact that she answered he phone several times during our session. In fact she managed to waste so much time that I only got one round in during the hour. I say hour, in fact I only got 48 minutes. They have phones in the rooms and the madam rings to tell the girl it's time and that is how early it rang. Prices here are 30 minutes for €70 and 1 hour for €130. Not recommended.

This is a 24 hour place on the TF-272. You can park easily nearby. When I went (on the same day as my first visit to El Hotelito) they only had one girl available but that really wasn't a problem as she was a real knockout. The price was €120 for the hour and she was an absolute star. The place itself is currently being renovated so is a bit rough and ready but I would happily return.

On their website they claim to be a 24 hour place. This is not true. There is a sign outside saying they open at 4 pm Monday to Saturday and at 7 pm on Sundays. When I went at 6 pm on a Monday they didn't have any girls. The woman opening up said she could call some who lived nearby but I wasn't in the mood to waste my evening sitting around waiting for the girls to turn up.

I tried this place after an enjoyable day in Puerto de la Cruz and am happy to say that my enjoyable day continued while I was here. Parking was easy enough outside although if you go past it towards the city centre you might find it hard to turn round. 30 minutes was €60.

In the south of the island I only went to one place. It was Calle Noruega No. 26, LOS Cristianos. Flat 1 E. 28.052596,-16.721854 There is also a Calle Noruega in Playa de las Americas. Make sure you go to the one in LOS Cristianos. There were 4 girls working when I went, 2 latinas and 2 East European blondes. Normally I would choose a latina but they were both rather chunky so I had a nice Czech blonde instead. Prices here are 15 minutes for €40,30 minutes for €60 and 1 hour for €120. It's a bit of a dump but there really didn't seem to be anything else in the area. I was able to park just down the road but I wouldn't imagine it's always that easy.

Laguna Relax. Calle Heraclio Sanchez No. 23. La Laguna. Flat F06.

This is a 24 hour place. I went early one evening during the week. There were 2 girls available, one Spanish and one Russian. I picked the Spanish girl and was very happy with the service provided Price was €100 for 1 hour. If you are coming by car I would suggest you use the underground parking in Av Trinidad.

Perhaps I was just unlucky but I haven't been very impressed with the mongering available on Tenerife, in my opinion it compares very poorly with what is available on Gran canaria.
