Surprise surprise. Having had a great experiences in Madrid with Chinese (in the Ambros house), I was looking for the same thing in Gerona. Could find nothing on the web. How the hell the are there so many? The whole town must be one big bordello! I am astounded. Is this typical for Spain. The clientele seems just Catalan, as on the phone, they don't seem to speak anything other than Spanish or Catalan. These Catalans must just be randy (lucky) bastards.

on the fringe of every spanish conurbation, usually 10km or more out of town, along the main carreteras, or brightening grim industrial parks, you will find neon letters thrusting skywards to announce ‘club’ or ‘hotel’.

gliding your porsche into the discreet car park, you proceed to a lobby where low-profile security boys briefly eye you up. if you are not drug-deranged or bearing an assault rifle, you may follow the sound of tropical music to the bar.

where you will find as few as half a dozen or as many as fifty women, unmistakeably putas in heels, bikinis, miniskirts, hot pants. they prowl around the customers, who sip their drinks reflectively, pondering when, and upon whom, to pounce.

the bar is illuminated by a curious fluorescence – mur is ignorant of the technical term – which lends a shiny glow to white clothing, increasing the piquancy of our shy maidens as they strut and gyrate. it recalls that cliché of a muslim paradise, although the sceptic may harbour a fleeting doubt as to how many of the girls are virgins…

etiquette varies. at some clubs it is ‘comme il faut’ for mademoiselle to approach the lone drinker in search of true love, while others prefer to let the punter make the running. either way, you choose a companion and go upstairs to seek a private room where you can discuss recent global economic trends in a quieter environment.

but you will seldom find a spanish chica, – if you lust for native talent you must browse the classifieds in the local rag, or haunt pubs in search of freebies if you are the wealthy, young and handsome type. many of the lovely putitas hail from spain’s erstwhile transatlantic empire, with colombia and the dominican republic strongly represented; but brazilians and eastern europeans also abound, and a handful of africans enrich the chiaroscuro.

this exemplary establishment is situated some 200 metres from the airport of the splendid galician seaside city of vigo, an attractive place, with accommodation at all prices, as well as shopping, history, culture, beaches, fine seafood, a respectable soccer team, and thousands of beautiful women on view at all hours.

the peinador also runs a ‘normal’ hotel and restaurant, but it is cheaper to get bed and board downtown. to reach this peerless brothel, take the airport bus, €2 from the city centre, twenty minutes. or a taxi to the airport, €20. throughout spain these oases are far outside city limits, making it useful to get your head round local bus routes, rather than paying for a long return taxi ride.

at the tourist information kiosk in downtown vigo, mur stood in line silently rehearsing his awkward spanish, and when his turn came, he inquired of the (eminently doable) teenager, “¿dónde se coge el autobus para el aeropuerto?”, and little beauty replied, in english, “funny, the last two guys asked me the same thing.”

if anyone thinks sex-crazed muri has invented this, a recent non-fiction best-seller devotes several pages to the phenomenon. in ‘ghosts of spain’ (faber, 2006) giles tremlett of ‘the guardian’ newspaper discusses the country’s past and present. much of the book is acute and interesting, but his puta section (chapter 7, ‘clubs and curas’) is typical of the sad shite that journalists dump when they examine the bought sex scene. you can only write perceptively about this subject if you have done practical research, which in plain english means paying euros and fucking girls. most journos do exactly what tremlett does: ‘this was my first ever visit to a brothel’… ‘i was not sure what i was expecting’… etc.

I visited the Club right next to the airport lastnight, Club Vajia 69. Was very impressed with the layout and the amount of females, most 7/10 or higher. OF course there were a few on the lower scale. Some of the women Africans and some dark south americans were very pushy and would not take no for answer. I tried endlessly to avoid these women but one after the other would approach me. It was the same for every new guy walking through the door. Once I got rid of these women I noticed a very nice spanish lady just sitting by herself. I approached her and found her to speak very good english. I asked her why she was sitting over here, she replied that she doesn't like the africans tactic about attacking at the door. We sat there for about 30 minutes. During this time she pointed out several girls that spoke english and which ones were rip-offs or good. During this time she never told me the prices or asked for anything. I had to ask her what her prices where. She polited asked what I thought she was worth. Of course I said priceless which made her laugh and pull me by the arm up stairs. Once up stairs in the room the service was incredible! She started by giving me a nice massage and shower and then on to the good stuff. I was in the room for a good 2 hours and started to worry since she hadn't ask for any cash. She then told me she had to return and attend other customers. Before I left the room with her, I asked her how much. She said, she'll wait outside and I should leave what I thought it was worth on the nightstand. Great service, nice company so I left 180 euros. I would highly recommend this place but avoid the initial attack at the door.

If you had to choose between Jamaica and Olimpo which one would you go to?

Jamaica. At least there were many girls, you could have a (cheap) drink while watching them, they have a big screen (with the National Geographic Channel on it!) and, even if one does not fancy the Romanian type of girl, there are really good looking girls there.

To be honest when I visited Vaji '89 the last thing I expected was to end up spending time with an African girl as these in general are also not my cup of tea.

Here are my finding about 3 small (carretera) clubs which I visited during the past year:

First one: sorry I don't remember its name (meaning that the place didn't impress me very much), but it's located on the north coast between Santander and Gijon. You can find it along the N634 between km 272 and 300 (part where the A-8 goes from autovia (freeway) back to a national highway (carretera de nacional). Although I don't remember the exact location of this club, I'm pretty certain it's near the small town of San Roque del Alcebal. Across the road you'll find a restaurant with parking space for about 10-12 trucks on the left side of the restaurant.

It's a small club with a lousy atmosphere and about 15-20 girls which are almost all eastern European (Rumanian/Moldavian/Bulgarian). As I prefer south American chicas this was a bit disappointing. Most of the girls there however were rather good-looking (6/10 to a few girls which were even 9/10). Pity that the overall attitude of the girls is crap. After I entered the club and sat at the bar one of them immediately started to write down her rates on a piece of paper before I even managed to order a drink: 15 minutes for Eur. 40,00; 30 minutes for Eur. 60,00. Jeez girlie let me order a drink first, meaning that I find that kindof attitude downright annoying (or do I look that frustrated to get laid). As time went by it seemed that pretty much all the girls there had the same attitude problem: no real interest in the men and they only talked to you if they made some stupid attempt to persuade you to go to a room with them. The only conciliation was that the drinks weren't overly expensive at this club. Absolutely not a club I'd consider visiting (ever) again, so I would advice you also not to bother.

Second one: El Moli Bar at La Jonquera - again a waste of time. The night I went there it was overcrowded, very noisy and the atmosphere was rubbish. There were about 20 girls, which was far too little compared to the number of men. The mix was about 50% east European; 50% south American/Caribbean (looks 4/10 to about 8/10) - none of the girls managed to catch my interest.

One Rumanian girl of about 25 years old however did manage to make me laugh. I was sitting next to a guy whom she approached and told him it would be Eur. 60,00 for 30 minutes. After he refused she turned to me and told me Eur. 50,00 for 30 minutes. Out of curiosity, I asked her to explain the price difference of Eur. 10,00 - her answer: "because you are cute and the other guy is not", then I asked why she wanted me to come to a room - her answer to that question: "because I need the money". Both these answers were enough to make me laugh. As she wasn't the best looking girl (5-6/10), I kindly rejected her offer, told her I would think about it and that I appreciated her honest answers... to date I'm still thinking about it *NOT* . My advice: don't bother with this joint and go to Dallas instead which is only a few km away.

Third one: can be found in Cambrils (a bit south of Tarragona), along the carretera de nacional N340. Sorry again I don't remember the name of this joint, but it's diagonally across the large diner/truckstop with the Shell gas station next to it. Coming from the A-7/AP-7 just take the Cambrils exit and turn south onto the N340 and follow it for a few kilometres. In my opinion this small club is a joke with poor atmosphere and mostly very ugly unattractive girls. You really have to look hard to find a 6/10 with regard to looks, most of them are 3/10 or 4/10 and too fat as well - bleeeh! The lineup of girls here is so bad that me and a few of my colleagues have nicknamed this club the "ugly girls club". The two times I visited this club there were only around 10-12 girls, mostly a mix of African combined with some from south America/Caribbean. Strangely enough I didn't see any from east Europe here, which is quite exceptional - perhaps they find this club of such a poor standard that they don't want to work there.

Needless to say I didn't do much more here then have a few drinks (priced around Eur. 6,00 each) and get rid of every girl that came to me. I can remember one of them quite clearly. She was African, with a pitch black skin colour and looked like she came straight from the TV-series Shaka Zulu. As you guessed not my taste AT ALL, about 3/10 with regard to looks, but at least she spoke some decent English. First she asked me to buy her a drink, which I of course refused. Then she asked why I didn't want to buy a drink for her. I said: "it's too expensive" - her reply: "it's only Eur. 20,00". My answer: "any idea how much alcoholic beverage you buy can for that money in a super mercat?" Her answer: "well, this isn't a super mercat". After which I replied: "yes I know it's not a mercat, even the girls working at a super mercat are more attractive compared to the ones here". Despite this rather rude answer she still didn't leave me alone. Next she asked me to go a room, again she got "no" for an answer. Then she asked me to give her money for cigarettes, my answer once again: "no". After which she said: "I see there's not going to be much fun with you" - guess what my reply was...

To date the club with the most ugly and UNattractive lineup of girls I've been to - as Out for Flesh once wrote: "girls whose sight hurts" - believe me: the ones here certainly do! Apart from that the place doesn't look very clean and has a total lack of ambient/atmosphere. My advice: avoid and check out something else - there's plenty of choice along the N340.

That certainly is disapponting if they're almost all Rumanian "Jamaica" doesn't do justice to the name of club. Despite this I think I'll still check the place out when travelling through the Valladolid region next month. If you had to choose between Jamaica and Olimpo which one would you go to?

To be honest when I visited Vaji '89 the last thing I expected was to end up spending time with an African girl as these in general are also not my cup of tea. I myself am also pretty picky - apart from looks (which are of course the most important) and what she does or doesn't do while having sex, the girls' overall attitude, the way she approaches me and behaves herself prior to me making a decision whether to go with her all count. More then once I've refused to go with girls whose looks were 8-9/10 because their attitudes sucked or kissing on the mouth was even too much for them.

FYI, I stayed for the night at Hotel Torre de Sila, right in the middle of Tordesillas, by the bus station. A 3-star hotel, relatively new, good price, good quality, good restaurant, free Internet access (but you need a cable - maybe they can provide you with it, I always carry mine with me).

I set out to explore (once again) clubs in the zone: Vaji, Jamaica, Olimpo. I started around 23:00 with Jamaica.

Jamaica is in the road to Salamanca, on the right hand side. You can't miss the lights, as they can be seen from far away. You have to take a detour and drive around the building, as if you were going to continue towards Salamanca. It has two bars, many girls, some of them really cute, and, except maybe two or three, all of them Romanians, for what I could see. This is, in principle, a no-no for me, but anyway I tried to hook up with some of them and secure anal. No way. Some of the girls were not telling me they are from Roumania (i.e., Moldavia, Greece, Hungary, etc.) The one from Moldavia could really be from Moldova. So I left barehanded. BTW, a soft drink is 7E.

Next stop was Olimpo. Continue further on the road to Salamanca and, before reaching Simancas, you'll see its blue lights on the left. Take an exit on the right to go to "Urbanizacion Panorama" and cross below the road. It looks like a big house, and it surely was one. I was attracted there after reading in some forum that there were some Brazilian (and, in general South American) providers.

As you enter, there is a big bar in the center of the room; the bar is about the size of that of FP in Madrid (for those who know the place), but, while in FP there may easily be 100 girls, there were 10 to 15 girls here, only two or three of them were doable. There were certainly a mix of East Europe and South America. Only the undoable ones would approach me. As for clients, approximately the same number. After some time I chose a target: Sonia, a slim girl with curly blond hair who was dancing and looking around with a really sexy smile. Of course I wanted to have those lips around some part of my body.

So I approached her, asked her name, where she was from (Paraguay, she told me). She seemed reluctant to speak - much more than other girls. Instead of chatting or trying to convince me to go upstairs right away, she asked me to invite her to a drink. "How much", I asked. "30 E - cheap!", she replied. Well, it is *not* cheap and I told her so, to which she replied "you do not love me", and she parted. Excellent customer relation. I parted, too.

Back to Tordesillas, then exit to the south to Vaji 69, very close to Tordesillas. The panorama was similar to Olimpo, only some more girls, with more average weight and age. The ones with more age and weight seemed to be genuinely in love with me. And when I repeatedly turned down their offers they seemed genuinely upset - just like a girlfriend. The only girl I liked was chatting with some guys who wouldn't let her go. So, at 3 am, I called that a night an went back to the hotel.


Evidently I am still open to suggestions regarding that area, given how little success I have had there.

When going from Madrid to Valladolid on the A6 (direction A Coruna), I can recommend the following tour:

Just before Tordesillas, on your left hand side you'll see Club Vaji 89, opens at 16:00.

Of course you can also visit the clubs close to Madrid, like Flowers, but personally I'd recommend the ones near Valladolid.

I can't disagree with Memek regarding the clubs that are around Valladolid. Visited Club Vaji '89 myself about 8 months ago and left there with a smile on my face.

Coming all the way from Porto, after having dinner in Zamora, I was pretty fed up with driving and decided to hit the first decent looking club that came in sight... which later turned out to be Club Vaji '89.

Instead of coming from the A-6, I was driving eastbound on the A-11. When I saw some bright coloured neon lights which were still about 5 km away, I had no idea how to get to them, but this turned out to be easier then I thought. Because it was dark, I don't remember the exact route anymore (must have driven a few kms south along the A-62 towards Salamanca, after crossing the A-11 / A-62 junction, then either the first or the second exit and another km along the CL-611. Forgive me if this is incorrect, because in this particular case the neon lights just marked the spot).

Vaji '89 has a roomy parking lot and the 3-story building, which appears to be pretty new, looks cool in my opinion. The distinctive horseshoe logo on the roof makes it easily recognizable. Although you can enter from the front side, the entrance to the bar which is at basement level, is at the rear of the building. Because it was my first time there, I took the front entrance and ended up in the area near the rooms instead of the bar.

After entering (free of charge) I bumped into 3 smiling babes who all clearly were either from South America or Caribbean. One of them asked if I was looking for the bar after which she said that's one level down with the elevator. So down I went, cramped together in the what turned out to be rather small elevator with the 3 girls - nice way to get things heated up. The bar area of this club is to date the best I've seen. Although the main bar is pretty big the area itself has a nice roomy feel to it. It's also nicely decorated, music is played at a reasonable sound level and there's also more seating possibilities then I've witnessed at most other clubs.

Regular drinks at Vaji '89 cost Eur. 6,00 and after ordering a beer I of course checked out the ladies. There's a lot of variety in both nationalities and beautiness. I saw a few there with are really ugly and not my piece of cake at ALL (ouch my eyes). I estimate to number of ladies on the night I was there at about 40-50, ranging in age from 20-30(+), and almost all are from eastern Europe, South America, Caribbean and a few from Africa.

Despite the rather low ladies:visitors ratio which was about 4:1 on the evening I went there, surprisingly enough it took about 10 minutes before the first girl approached me. She had not much more to say then: "come to room, we fu*ie fu*ie" - apart from that she wasn't very attractive as well (5/10 in my opinion). Needless to say I showed no interest and after refusing to buy her a drink she was a bit annoyed with me and went on to find her next victim.

Then I saw one looking at me of whom I thought: I certainly hope this one does NOT approach me... which of course she did . During the past few years I've seen many girls in Spanish clubs, but to date this surely is the most ugly and unattractive one - 3/10 at best, but more like 2/10 as far as looks goes. Apart from that I found her downright repulsive as well, she almost made me nauseous - even if she had paid me Eur. 50,00 to do a job on her I would have refused it! Thank heavens I managed to get rid of her within 5 minutes.

After my first two contacts it seemed like it was going to be an "ugly" ladies evening for me at Vaji '89. Then things got a LOT better when a small built girl decided to have a go at me. Unlike the first two girls her English was surprisingly good. She introduced herself as 'Blessing', was from West Africa and 21 years old. Compared to the first two highly unattractive encounters Blessing has an absolutely gorgeous face and a very sensuous look about her. Both her face (and skin colour) reminded me strongly of female African singer Sade. Although Blessing is rather petite, everything is in the right proportion. The only thing that perhaps could have been a bit bigger are her breasts as hers are small and I'm more a C-cup kindof guy.

Blessing turned out to be very pleasant company during the next hour at the bar, in fact much better then I've experienced with a lot of girls at clubs. She wasn't pushy at all and also showed some genuine interest in me (she i.e. asked what I had been doing in Porto). She very well could understand why I generally find it annoying if I enter a club and the first thing a girl that approaches me says: "come to room fu*ie for 50 Euro". She also made no secret of it that she had to pay Eur. 50,00 for her room for each night she was working there, and that especially during quiet evenings some girls even didn't manage to earn that amount back (probably the ugly ones), let alone make some profit.

After an hour had passed she indicated that she had been very patient with me and now she wanted me to come to her room. Before going with her I asked her how she thought about kissing on the mouth and French kissing in particular: she said it depended on the person, and she had no problem doing it with me. Then she made the following stunning offer: 45 minutes room time for only 40 Euro(!), because she thought I was really a sweet guy. She also gave me the option of taking her to "my room", but that would be double the price.

Regarding the price: I'm NOT kidding, this is honestly what she offered: definitely a so-called offer one can't refuse! I have read quite a few reports about club visits and experiences in the Spanish forum and often can't believe the rates that are mentioned such as Eur. 70,00 or even Eur. 80,00 for only 30 minutes. The "worst" deal I've so far had in a Spanish club is Eur. 54,00 for 30 minutes... is this luck or is it me?! Perhaps the reason for this is the fact that I generally prefer to visit the so-called "careterra (highway) clubs", which are far away from the centres of the major cities and therefore usually cheaper. So far I've also never had much trouble negotiating a Eur. 60,00 offer for 30 mins. down to Eur. 50,00. Anyway, I choose for the room offer in the club itself.

After getting the keys to her room she told me I didn't have to pay in advance. Afterwards I would pay the amount for the total time spent with her. Because I had no rush at all at first nothing much happened, the conversation we had at the bar just continued, only difference was that the time spent with her at the bar was free of charge and in the room it wasn't. Then I discovered she had cold feet and hands and although I usually don't do this with girls at a club I decided to rub her feet and hands till they were warm again... there was just something affectionate about Blessing.

And yes, we did finally have sex (won't go into much details...) which involved a lot of passion, eye-contact and kissing. I don't know why, but this girl somehow knew exactly how to drive me nuts and what aroused me sexually, which is the exact reason why I left this club with a smile on my face and 100% satisfied. After we did the deed she seemed also pretty cheerful as she was singing in the bathroom while washing and cleaning up herself - something I've so far never experienced with any girl at a any club. Before leaving, after paying her personally for 90 minutes room time, she went into her closet and gave me a bag of potato chips in case I had gotten hungry. In addition she wrote down her Spanish cell phone number for me and eagerly wanted to know when I would stop by again. Unfortunately I couldn't give her an answer for the simple reason that for work I'm not in that particular corner of Spain very often... I'm planning on going there next month and it would be nice if she's still there.

Club Vaji '89 summarized:

• Time spent: well over 3 hours: from approx. 22:45-02:00h
• Entrance fee: none paid
• Regular drink: Eur. 6,00
• Club location: excellent
• Club atmosphere/bar area: 8/10 (nice and relaxed)
• Ladies: 2/10 to 8-9/10: as there are a few really ugly ones here, be patient until one of the better looking ones sits next to you! Plus side is that the ladies here are not overly pushy and not too sticky - once they get the message that you're not interested, they'll leave you alone (at least that's what I experienced).
• Blessing: a very sensuous fine built beauty from west Africa (8-9/10 with regard to looks/body). Not a sticky or pushy girl, but once she's "invested" time and patience in you she does expect something in return, meaning going to her room with her (which is in my opinion not unreasonable). If she fancies you she'll make some effort to please you as well - for me it was complete satisfaction!
• Total damage: Eur. 116,00 = 1 coke, 2 beers, a drink for the lady (think that cost me Eur. 18,00), 90 minutes of room time for only Eur. 80,00(!)
• Would repeat: yep, without a doubt!
