How long did it take to receive those tickets? Did you rental car company charge you for the inconvenience of passing along your info? How much over the limit were you? Those fines are lower than most people receive. You either were lucky or not speeding by much. There are non-sex related travel sites that have discussed this situation, but from what I remember, if you don't pay the fines, Switzerland will issue a warrant out on you which will expire after three years. So, it's definitely worth paying if you plan to visit Switzerland in the next few years. Probably worth paying regardless.

Apparently they have radar traps setup and just send a traffic violation in the mail. I am naturally inclined to just pay these rather than deal with the consequences of ignoring them. If ever there was a reason not to rent a car this is it. 480 Euro for three speeding tickets is outrageous but on the other hand everything is expensive in Switzerland. Trains and Uber / Taxi are much cheaper and stress free. You can ignore it, but I am not sure it will go away and could well escalate, have you read / translated the ticket conditions?
